Setting Time Zone / Clock / Alarm Week Mode
The first time you connect your new SmartSet clock radio to the AC outlet the internal computer will automatically set the time correctly for the Eastern Time Zone, which is the initial default setting.The display will scan for a few seconds and then show the correct Day and Time in the Eastern zone. If you live in the Eastern Time zone, there’s nothing else to do. Your clock is set correctly and running.If you do not live in the Eastern Time zone you must change the default zone display to your own zone. You only do this one time and the SmartSet will remember the new default zone setting and will always return to that setting after a power interruption.
There are 7 time zones programmed into your SmartSet clock radio as follows:
- ZONE 1 — Atlantic Time
- ZONE 2 — Eastern Time (Default Setting)
- ZONE 3 — Central Time
- ZONE 4 — Mountain Time
- ZONE 5 — Pacific Time
- ZONE 6 — Yukon Time
ZONE 7 — Hawaiian Time
- Depress and hold the "TIME ZONE" button.
- Press the "▼" or "▲" button until your own time zone appears on the display, then release the buttons.
Note: Time Zone and Date/Time setting can only be adjusted in standby mode, where the functionof Radio and AUX are disabled (indicators of "MHz" and "AUX" are Off).
Date and Year Display and Adjustment

Press and hold the “DATE” button, and then short or long press the "▼" or "▲" button to advance Month or Date. For example, May 21st will appear as "5.21". Release the buttons to finish the adjustment.YEAR DISPLAY(YYYY)
Press and hold the "DATE" and "TIME" button- YEAR ADJUSTMENT
While at YEAR DISPLAY, press the"▼" or "▲" button to adjust the Year
Manual Time Adjustments
- Press and hold the “TIME” button, and then short or long press the "▼" or "▲" button to advance Hour or Minutes.
Release the buttons to finish the adjustment.
NOTE: If you manually adjust the time, your new setting is entered into the SmartSet memory. If the power is interrupted, the display will return to your new setting, not the original setting, when the power is restored.
Daylight Saving and Leap Year Adjustments
All Daylight Saving and Leap Year adjustments are made automatically by the SmartSet internal computer as follows:
- Start of Daylight Saving Time
- At "2:00 AM" on the 2nd Sunday in March, the clock will automatically advance to "3:00 AM".
- End of Daylight Saving Time
- At '3:00 AM' on the 1st Sunday in November, the clock will automatically reset to "2:00 AM".
- Leap Year
- At "12:00 Midnight" on February 28th, the calendar display will change to "2.29".
Adjusting The Wake Up Times and Alarm Week Mode
- Adjusting The Wake Up Times for AL1 or AL2 Press and hold the “AL1” (“AL2”) button until the display flashes, then release the button.
- Short or long press the "▼" or “▲” button to advance Hour or Minutes.
- Short press the “AL1” (“AL2”) button again, Alarm Volume (U03-U15) will display.
- Short or long press the "▼" or “▲” button to decrease or increase the maximum volume of the buzzer or radio alarm at which the alarm will reach gradually at wake up time.
- Then, short press the “AL1” (“AL2”) button again to finish this alarm setting process, or leave the unit idle, that will resume to time/standby mode automatically.
- Selecting The Alarm Week Mode A( / / )B C Press and hold the "AL1" ("AL2") button until the display flashes, then release the buttons.
- Press the "AL MODE" button to select the Alarm Week Mod Ae , oB Cr that suits your need. Short press the “AL1” (“AL2”) button again, Alarm Volume (U03-U15) will display.
Repeat the Alarm Volume setting procedure stated above.
NOTE: Be sure that you have set the wake up time by observing the AM indicator. If the AM indicator is 'On ' the wake up time is "AM". Otherwise the wake up time is "PM".

Listening to The Radio
Tuning to The FM Radio
- Press O to turn the radio 'On' .
- Set the volume by pressing.
- Tune to your desired station by pressing 3 slightly to increase or decrease the receiving frequency by one step, or holding for one second and release to engage Auto Station Seeking until a station with acceptable reception is found.
NOTE: For better reception, fully extend and adjust the position and direction of the AC adapter cord that acts as an FM antenna.
Storing Station to the Memory
- Tune to the desired station as described above.
- Press and hold until 'P XX' blinks, indicating the memory location to store the currently listening station, then release the button.
- While 'P XX' is blinking, press can change the memory location (P01~P20).
- Press again, the currently listening station is stored.
Recalling Station from the Memory
- After the radio is ‘On’ ,press 1 , ‘P XX’ shows on the display .The station according to this memory location will then be automatically tuned in.
- To change memory location(P01~P20), press t1 o step Up or press t2 o step Up/Down to locate and tune in the station stored in memory.
Enjoying Audio Sources with AUX IN Jack
- Press turn the unit ‘On’.
- Connect the audio source from its earphone jack with a 3.5mm Male to Male stereo AUX cable (not provided)
- AUX indicator will be On,when the AUX cable connected
- Start to play the audio source.
- The AUX volume can be adjusted through your audio players only.
- Remark: Even the AUX IN jack is plugged in, the alarm sound only be Buzzer or Radio according to your Alarm Mode setting while the alarm function is activated.
Setting The Alarm
Wake To Radio and Radio Alarm Volume Setting
- Press turn On the radio ( M2 HZ ‘On’) without AUX cable connected.
- Pres or recall station from the Memory to select the station that you wish to hear when the alarm comes ‘On’.
- Press 4 to set the maximum radio volume at which the alarm will reach gradually at wake up time.
- Turn Off the radio if it is On.
- Then follow through the steps stated in the “Adjusting The Wake Up Times and Alarm Week Mode” section to set the Radio Alarm and Volume for AL1 or Al2.
- Press lightly, and repeat doing so if necessary, until or indicator is lit on the display. If you do not want the alarm to turn the radio on the following day , press and release continuously until the ALARM indicator on the display is ‘Off’.
Wake To Buzzer
- Reconfirm the wake up time and alarm mode settings for the alarm you are using by pressing and holding "AL1" ("AL2")when the unit is 'Off*.
- If alarm time adjustment is needed, follow through the steps stated in the "Adjusting The Wake Up Times and Alarm Week Mode" section to set the Buzzer Alarm and Volume for AL1 or AL2.
- Press slightly, and repeat doing so if necessary, until 1 7 or 2% indicator is lit on the display.
- At the selected wake up time the buzzer will sound gradually and continue for 1 hour, press to stop the buzzer sooner.
- If you do not want the alarm to buzzer on the following day, press and release continuously until the ALARM indicator on the display is 'Off'.
Radio And Buzzer Operation
You may also set one alarm for wake to RADIO and the other for wake to BUZZER. Just press the AL 1 and AL 2 buttons to the desired status as shown on the ALARM indicators.
Snooze Alarm
- When alarm sounds, press to snooze the alarm that will repeat nine minutes later.
- The Snooze operation may be repeated several times if desired but after one hour the alarm will not come on again.
- Alarm indicator will flash during Snooze operation.

Projecting the Clock / Alarm Time
- Tilt the rotatable Projector toward any light-colored ceiling or wall.
- Press the Projector "ON/OFF" button to project the clock time image onto the ceiling or wall.
- Rotate the knob of the Projector either in clockwise or counterclockwise direction to bring the image to focus
- If the image is inverted, press the "ROTATE IMAGE" button to meet your needs.
Note: The projector will come On when the alarm comes On. It will turn Off once the alarm is turned Off.
Sleeping to Music Timer
- Turn the unit On to Radio or AUX IN mode.
- Short press the "SLEEP" button to choose your desired sleep timer (10-90 minutes or OFF).
- To display the sleep timer during countdown, press the "SLEEP" button.
- To cancel the sleep timer, press I to shut off the unit.
4-Level Dimmer Control
Press the "SNOOZE/DIMMER" button while in Standby mode and select any of the four levels. It also can be adjusted when the Radio or AUX is On.

The built-in lithium battery is used to supply power to the SmartSet computer memory during storage period or power interruption. When the battery power drops below a certain level, the LOW BATTERY “ O” indicator will 'Flash'. You should replace the battery with a new 3V lithium
CR2032 or equivalent as follows
- Use a small screw driver to remove the screw securing the battery holder to the cabinet.
- Remove the original battery from the holder and insert the new battery into the holder the same way, observing the positive (+) polarity.
- Slide the holder with the new battery back into the slot in the cabinet.
Replace the screw that secures the battery holder in the cabinet.
