Safety instructions

• Batteries should not be used in temperatures under 0 °C. They may become damaged and lose their capacity.
• Never hold the device directly to your ear. Humans cannot hear frequencies > 16 kHz, but they might the device emits at a high volume and then therefore it might be harmful, if the ear is exposed to them over a longer period.

Operating

The innovative marten protection from Gardigo – battery-operated and mobile. No more worries about unwanted visits from martens to your premises. Minimal power consumption thanks to new electronics. The device emits high-frequency tones at intervals of 60 seconds (60-second pause). These tones, which are barely perceptible to the human ear, are annoying to martens in vehicles and rooms. The device protects you against marten bites on cables, wires,, and other rubber parts.

Replacement of the battery

• The device uses four batteries (type C, 1.5 V) for the power supply.
• Open the battery compartment by carefully by loosening the screw (1) on the battery compartment at the back of the device. Open the lid carefully.
• Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries: place the plus end of the battery on the flat contacts of the battery compartment, and the minus side of the battery in the direction of the springs. Inserting Batteries with the wrong polarity can destroy the device. Close the battery compartment and tighten the screw.
• Please note that the device may start in pause mode and only go into operating mode after 1 - 2 minutes. The unit is not defective.
• Install the device in the engine compartment of your vehicle by using the cable ties included in the delivery. The use in the passenger compartment does not affect a marten that may be located in the engine compartment!

Note: The status LED lights up during operation. After the sound has stopped, the LED goes out.

Note: If the vehicle or locations have already been visited by martens, the animals have most likely left scent marks to identify their territory. These smells must be removed before the marten-free device is installed (preferably by washing the engine in the vehicle). 

Please note that the device must be removed before the engine is washed!

Note: The device must be positioned so that it does not come into contact with moving or hot parts (e.g., ventilating wheel, exhaust manifold).

General information

• The CE conformity has been declared. All documents are at our office and can be viewed. 
• For safety and conformity reasons, it is not permitted to rebuild or modify the device and/or use it in any other way than described above. 
• It should be noted that operating or connection errors or damage caused by non-observance of the operating instructions are beyond the control of Gardigo, and no liability can be assumed for resulting damages. The warranty can only be applied to a fully equipped device in prime condition. This applies especially if alterations or repair attempts have been made, if the circuitry has been modified or components have been used, other than the original components,, and/or if the operation of the device has been incorrect, careless,, or abusive. In all these cases, the warranty expires. 
• The device may be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use any solvents or detergents.

Regulation on the disposal of old electronic equipment, rechargeable batteries, batteries,, and lamps 

• The symbol of the crossed-out bin indicates that electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, rechargeable batteries, and lamps may not be disposed of together with household waste. It is a legal obligation to collect these separately and dispose of them at an approved collection point (e.g.,, local recycling centre or retailer). 
• Many retailers are legally obliged to take back goods, free of charge. Devices, batteries, rechargeable batteries,, and lamps may be returned to us by post, free of charge (company address. Contact your public waste disposal authority to find out where devices, batteries, rechargeable batteries, and lamps can be returned for an environmentally friendly disposal.
• Consumers are obliged to separate batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not enclosed by the device, as well as lamps that can be removed without destroying them, from the device before disposal at the collection point.
• If there are chemical signs under the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol, the battery/rechargeable battery contains materials whthatf handled incorrectly, can seriously damage the environment and health. 

The symbols have the following meaning: 

• Pb: > 0.004 mass percent lead;
• Cd: > 0.002 mass percent cadmium; 
• Hg: > 0.0005 mass percent mercury.
