Variable Temperature Control 

The variable electronic control panel offers six different Fahrenheit temperatures for optimal tea and coffee brewing: 160° F, 175° F, 185° F, 190° F, 200° F, and 212° F.

Keep Warm Function 

The HadinEEon Variable Temperature Kettle offers a convenient KEEP WARM function that can be used before, during, or on completion of the water heating cycle. When the water has reached the selected Fahrenheit temperature, the KEEP WARM function will hold the selected temperature for 12 hours. If the 212° F button is selected when using the KEEP WARM function, the boiled water will remain at approximately 200° F for 12 hours.

To activate the KEEP WARM function, first press the desired water temperature button from the six options on the control panel. Then press the KEEP WARM button, followed by the START/CANCEL button to commence heating the water. Alternatively, the KEEP WARM button can be activated at any time during the heating cycle and/or within one minute after the heating cycle has completed. If the kettle is removed from the power base during the KEEP WARM function, the kettle will automatically switch off.

NOTE: If temperature is changed during the KEEP WARM function, the selected temperature button will flash in blue and the kettle will start reaching the selected temperature. Then 3 beeps will sound. The selected temperature button and Keep Warm button will illuminate in blue. The LED light at the bottom of the kettle will continue to circle on and off when keeping water to the selected temperature.

Memory Function 

The HadinEEon Variable Temperature Kettle offers a convenient memory function when the kettle is in Keep Warm state. In the Keep Warm state, lift the kettle off the power base and replace it back on the power base within 20 seconds, the kettle will remain in Keep Warm state. If the kettle is off the power base for more than 20 seconds, the Keep Warm function will be canceled.

Optimal Brewing 

Tea varieties are grown and produced in different environments and require specific water temperatures to allow their unique flavor and aroma to develop during brewing. To bring out the optimal quality and taste of more delicate tea leaves, a lower temperature will produce a better flavored cup of tea. For example, steeping green, white, or oolong teas in boiling water may scald the tea leaves and result in a bitter, astringent brew. Brewing the tea for too long may also result in a bitter, unpleasant taste, while brewing for too short a period may leave the tea bland. For best results always follow the specific directions on the tea/coffee packet.

Operating Your Variable Temperature Kettle

Before First Use 

Remove and safely discard any packaging material or promotional labels attached to your kettle. It is recommended that before first use to fill the kettle to the maximum level with cold tap water, bring to the boil by selecting the 212° F button, then discard the water. Your kettle will only operate when positioned on the power base. The kettle will automatically switch off when the water has reached the selected temperature.

Operation of your kettle

1. To fill the kettle, remove the kettle from the power base and open the lid by pressing the lid release button. Fill with the desired amount of water. Always fill the kettle between the minimum (0.5L) and maximum (MAX 2.0L) marks on the borosilicate glass body. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled or reached the selected temperature.
2. Ensure the lid is closed and locked firmly into place. Position the kettle securely onto the power base. Insert the power plug into a 110/120 power outlet and switch on. The whole control panel will illuminate in blue for one second. A beep will sound for one second. The whole control panel will automatically switch off after one second if not selected.

NOTE: If the START/CANCEL button is pressed (before selecting a temperature button), the START/CANCEL button will illuminate in blue, the 212°F button will flash in blue, and the kettle will start heating.

1. Select the desired water temperature by pressing one of the six variable Fahrenheit temperature buttons (160°F, 175°F, 185°F, 190°F, 200°F, 212°F). The selected button will illuminate in blue.

NOTE: The KEEP WARM function can be selected before, during, or on completion of the water heating cycle (refer to page 9).

1. Press the START/CANCEL button and it will illuminate in blue, the selected temperature button will flash in blue, the LED light at the bottom of the kettle will illuminate in blue, and the kettle will start heating. Do not remove the kettle from the power base during operation. Ensure the kettle has switched off after the water has boiled or the selected temperature has been reached before removing the kettle from the power base. If the kettle is removed from the power base for more than 20 seconds during the Keep Warm function, the kettle will automatically switch off.
2. When the kettle has heated the water to the selected temperature, 3 beeps will sound, the START/CANCEL button, selected temperature, and the bottom LED light illumination will switch off.
3. If the Keep Warm function has been selected, the Keep Warm button will remain illuminated in blue, the selected temperature button will remain illuminated in blue after reaching the selected temperature, the kettle and the bottom LED light will continue to cycle on and off for 12 hours.
4. If further heating of the kettle is not required, switch off at the power outlet, unplug the power cord, and empty the water from the kettle. Replace the kettle onto the power base and close the lid.

WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE LID DURING AND AFTER OPERATION. THIS MAY RESULT IN BOILING WATER SPLASHING FROM THE KETTLE. POUR ALL THE HOT WATER FROM THE KETTLE BEFORE OPENING THE LID TO REFILL.

NOTE: The default temperature setting of the kettle when switched on at the power outlet is 212°F. When the kettle is switched off at the power outlet and switched back on, it will automatically default to the 212°F temperature setting. When the kettle remains switched on at the power outlet and different temperature settings have been selected, the kettle will default to the last selected temperature setting.

NOTE: This kettle must be used only with the power base supplied. Use caution when pouring water from your kettle, as boiling/heated water and steam will scald. Do not pour the water too quickly.

NOTE: Always fill the kettle to between the minimum (0.5L) and maximum (MAX 2.0L) marks on the Measurement markings on the kettle. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off. Filling above the maximum mark on the water window of the kettle may result in boiling/heated water splashing from the kettle.

Safety boil dry protection

The kettle is fitted with a safety device, which protects against overheating should the appliance be operated with insufficient water. If this occurs, the kettle will stop heating, and a continuous tone will sound, indicating a dry boil error has occurred. The START/CANCEL and KEEP WARM buttons and the bottom LED illumination will switch off. Switch off at the power outlet and allow the kettle to cool before refilling. The safety device will automatically reset when the kettle has cooled sufficiently. In the event of severe overheating, the kettle will automatically shut down to prevent further damage.

Setup Guide

To operate the hadineeon Temperature Kettle GK2003CT, follow these steps:

1. Fill the kettle with water up to the desired level.

Removable filter

To clean the scale deposits from the filter, remove the filter by opening the lid and sliding the filter up and out of the kettle. The filter can be cleaned by placing it under running hot water and rubbing it with a cleaning cloth or brush. To replace the filter, simply slide the filter down into the slot under the lid of the kettle and push it back into position.

Removal of mineral deposits

Mineral deposits in tap water may cause the kettle interior and water window to discolour over time. Mineral deposits may be removed by using a proprietary kettle descaler available from most leading supermarkets, department stores, and hardware stores. Alternatively:

1. Fill the kettle until two-thirds full with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Boil and allow to stand overnight.
2. Empty the solution from the kettle. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring it to a boil and discard the water. Repeat and the kettle will be ready for use.

To clean the exterior

The outside of the kettle should be wiped with a damp cloth then polished with a soft, dry cloth.

NOTE: The filter could become damaged with time, so please check regularly and replace if found damaged.

NOTE: Do not use chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean the inside or outside of the kettle.

Storage

Ensure the kettle is switched off, cleaned, and dried before storing. Ensure that the lid is closed and locked securely into place. Wrap the power cord around the power cord storage under the power base. Stand the kettle upright on the power base. Do not store anything on top.

Descaling

YOUR KETTLE WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY IF IT IS NOT DESCALED REGULARLY. The warranty is voided if descaling is not carried out in accordance with these instructions. Scale is a naturally occurring buildup of mineral deposits. The ideal descaling cycle depends on water hardness. Descale the Kettle every 60 uses. Regular descaling can also increase the service life of the Kettle, allowing it to boil water faster with less energy.

1. Fill Kettle with descaling solution and water to the "MAX" marking. 
   NOTE: Available where household cleaning products are sold; follow the solution's recommended use.
2. Bring the solution to a boil.
3. Turn the Kettle OFF, unplug it from the outlet and let it stand for at least 30 minutes.
4. Remove the mesh spout filter and rinse it clean.
5. Empty the Kettle and rinse out any remaining solution.
6. Fill the Kettle with water to the "MAX" marking, boil, and discard the water before the next use.
