How to Make Espresso

NOTE: The unit may produce a pumping sound when a cup size has been selected. This is normal. The sound tells you that water is pumped for brewing espresso.

1. Fill removable water reservoir with water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
2. Place a cup on the cup rest with drip tray.
3. Plug into outlet.

4. Press the power switch to the ON (I) position. Both espresso and lungo cup buttons will start to flash.

   

5. Lift the handle after both cup buttons stop flashing.
6. Insert an espresso capsule according to the cutout on the top of the unit.

7. Push down handle.

   

   NOTE

   • Only use Nespresso and other compatible espresso capsules.
   • During brewing, never lift the handle. Otherwise the espresso capsule will be expelled into the used capsule container.
8. Press the desired cup size button.
9. The desired cup size will flash when espresso is brewing.
10. When espresso stops brewing, the cup light stops flashing.

11. Lift up the handle to expel the used espresso capsule automatically into the used capsule container.

    

12. Press the power switch to the OFF () position. Unplug.

    

NOTES:

• Press espresso or lungo button at any time to stop the brewing process. Empty cup and follow directions on page 4 to start a new brew cycle.
• Always use cold water to make espresso. Warm water or other liquids could cause damage to the appliance.
• Never open the handle during brewing cycles.

How to Adjust Espresso Quantity

1. Press and hold espresso or lungo cup button for 3 seconds. The indicator light will flash.
2. Release button.
3. Press selected cup button again to start the brewing process.

4. Press button to stop brewing, and the espresso maker will keep this quantity in memory.

   

NOTE: To restore the factory settings, hold down both buttons until they flash twice (about 3 seconds).

8. Press the power switch to the OFF () position.
9. Unplug.
