Setup: Waterrower DOMYOS Indoor Rowing MachineWR3 Owner Manual
Content
Overview
The DOMYOS Indoor Rowing MachineWR3 is a wood-framed indoor rower designed for home fitness and daily cardiovascular training. Its water-resistance system creates a smooth rowing feel that responds naturally to your effort: pulling faster and harder increases the drag and makes the workout more demanding.
The machine arrives partially assembled in two boxes. Assembly generally takes 30–45 minutes and requires only the supplied 5 mm Allen key. The DOMYOS Indoor Rowing MachineWR3 is intended for private, non-commercial use.

Detailed Description
The DOMYOS Indoor Rowing MachineWR3 uses a rotating water tank rather than a manually adjusted resistance knob. Water drag increases as the rowing wheel spins faster, so resistance is controlled by stroke speed and pulling power. This design allows light, steady sessions as well as harder interval workouts without changing a separate resistance setting.
The main structure consists of two rails, a rear spacer, a sliding seat, a footboard and the front tank assembly. Large vertical seat wheels run on the rail surfaces, while smaller guide wheels sit between the rails. The footboard includes adjustable footpads, and handle rests provide a designated place to return the handle after each session.
A recoil belt and bungee system return the handle toward the front of the machine. The WR3 also includes dolly wheels to help reposition it before upright storage. A level gauge on the tank indicates the water quantity, while the serial number is located on or near that gauge for product service records.

Safety
- Consult a physician before beginning an exercise program.
- Keep hands away from the seat wheels, belts, straps and pulleys while the rower is moving.
- Keep children, pets and other observers away from the machine during use.
- Return the handle to its handle rest after rowing. Never release the handle while it is under tension.
- Do not pull the handle when the rower is standing upright, because the machine could tip.
- Only users who can safely move and control the machine should place it in or remove it from the upright storage position.
- Take additional care around children when the rower is stored vertically, as an impact could make it fall.
Assembly and Setup
Assembling the frame
- Use the supplied Allen key to remove the JCN nuts from the rear spacer.
- Place both rails on the floor with their rubber feet facing downward, then attach the rear spacer using the JCN nuts.
- Position the seat between the rails with its recessed side facing the rear spacer. Place the larger load wheels on the rail extrusions and the smaller guide wheels between the rails.
- Set the tank assembly between the rails and loosely secure it using the JCB bolts.
- Fit the footboard between the rails, align its upper holes with the threaded holes near the tank and install the remaining JCB bolts.
- Attach both handle rests with their bolts. Tighten them securely, but do not overtighten.
- Slide the footpads beneath the footboard cover plate. A flat-head screwdriver can help lift each pad over the retaining lip. Reposition the pads through the available holes to suit the user.
- Attach the dolly wheel assemblies in the illustrated order, ensuring each wheel is positioned on the outside of its rail.
- Stand the rower upright, release the recoil belt from its bracket and hook the bungee to the recoil belt ring.
- Lay the rower flat and pull the handle several times. Confirm that the recoil belt travels smoothly across every guide pulley before filling the tank or exercising.
If holes or components do not align, loosen the fasteners, realign the parts and tighten them again. Do not force misaligned hardware.
Connecting the app
- Install the compatible application from the appropriate app store.
- Activate Bluetooth using the button on the side of the top deck.
- Open the application and search for the rower.
- Select the WR3 when it appears in the device list.
- Allow up to approximately 30 seconds for pairing to finish.
- Begin the rowing session after the connection is confirmed.
Water Tank
Choosing the water level
Use the tank’s level gauge when adding water. The recommended range is level 16–18, and level 19 is the absolute maximum. Never fill beyond level 19, because overfilling can damage the machine and may affect warranty coverage.
Municipal water is suitable because its treatment additives can help slow the initial growth of algae. Distilled water provides low mineral content and improved initial purity. Avoid well water because its higher mineral content is not recommended for the tank.
Filling or emptying the tank
- Remove the tank stopper from the area between the upper and lower decks.
- Connect the supplied syphon pump, or use a suitable hose, and place the water source higher than the tank when filling.
- Turn the pump knob clockwise to close the valve.
- Squeeze the pump four or five times until water begins to flow.
- For emptying, position the destination container lower than the tank and allow the syphon to move the water out.
- Turn the knob counter-clockwise to admit air and stop the syphon.
- Replace the tank stopper. Moistening it slightly can make refitting easier.
- Wipe away any spilled or remaining water from the machine.
Water purification
Add one supplied purification tablet approximately every six months. The tablet may need replacing sooner when the machine is exposed to direct sunlight; discoloration of the water is a signal to add a tablet immediately.
If the water remains cloudy or discolored after treatment, empty the tank, flush it with clean water, refill it and add a fresh purification tablet. Do not use alternative tank-cleaning chemicals, as they may damage the system and affect warranty coverage.
Rowing Technique
1. Catch position
Begin with the knees bent and the seat close to the heels while remaining comfortable. Extend the arms forward, reach the upper body slightly forward from the hips and look straight ahead.
2. Drive phase
Push first with the legs while maintaining a strong posture. Continue by bringing the torso back and finish the stroke by drawing the handle toward the body.
3. Release position
At the end of the drive, the legs are straight, the handle is near the chest and the upper back leans slightly beyond vertical. Keep the shoulders relaxed and the eyes forward.
4. Recovery phase
Extend the arms, then hinge forward at the hips while keeping the lower back controlled. Once the arms and torso are ready, bend the knees and slide forward without actively pulling the handle.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Every 2–4 weeks
- Check that the recoil belt and handle belt remain correctly positioned on their pulleys.
- If a belt has slipped, place the handle at the front to reduce tension, then guide the belt back onto the pulley.
- Inspect tank and rail fasteners and tighten loose bolts with the 5 mm Allen key.
- Wipe the rower with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water and diluted antibacterial dish soap.
Every 3–6 months
- Add one water-purification tablet and refit the tank stopper.
- Inspect the stitching and general wear on all straps.
- Check that the handle returns smoothly to the front of the machine. A slow or incomplete return can indicate a belt or recoil problem.
Every 6–12 months
- Apply Danish oil to the wood elements to help maintain their finish and appearance.
- Replace the monitor’s four AA batteries when required. Remove the monitor’s rear cover by taking out its two screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
Storage
To store the rower vertically, slide the seat toward the footboard, lift the rear leg and roll the machine toward you. Use the machine’s momentum to bring it upright in a controlled manner.
When standing, the WR3 occupies approximately the floor space of a chair. Make sure it is stable and place it where it cannot be struck or pulled over.
Troubleshooting
The handle return feels slow or uneven
Inspect the recoil belt and handle belt. A belt may have moved off a pulley or may be fraying. Reduce belt tension by positioning the handle at the front, realign the belt and check the pulley path again.
The frame or tank feels loose
Inspect the bolts along the tank and rail assemblies. Tighten any loose fasteners with the supplied 5 mm Allen key, taking care not to overtighten the handle-rest bolts.
The water is discolored
Add a purification tablet. If the water does not clear, empty the tank, flush it with clean water, refill it and add a new tablet. Use only the specified purification tablets in the tank.
The app will not connect
Confirm that Bluetooth is enabled from the button on the top deck, reopen the application and search for the rower again. Allow approximately 30 seconds for the pairing process to complete.
The monitor does not operate
Replace the four AA batteries. Access the battery compartment by removing the monitor’s rear cover and its two retaining screws.
Warranty
The WR3 warranty covers private, non-commercial use and provides repair or replacement for components found defective because of materials or workmanship for one year from the original shipment or retail purchase date.
Keep the original purchase receipt as proof of purchase and date. Coverage can be excluded when a problem results from accident, abuse, misuse, unauthorized modification or normal wear. The warranty is not automatically transferable, and defective replacement parts supplied through the authorized channel are covered for 30 days from shipment.
Do not exceed the tank’s maximum water level, because overfilling may affect warranty coverage.
