Detailed Description
The Smart Television combines traditional television inputs with a streaming-focused operating system. The My List function allows supported movies and shows to be saved for later access.

Safety
Battery Precautions
- Remove the remote batteries if it will not be used for an extended period.
- Do not combine old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, carbon-zinc, and rechargeable batteries.
- Install batteries with the positive and negative ends aligned with the markings inside the compartment.
- Dispose of exhausted batteries through an appropriate collection location. Do not burn them or place them in ordinary fire waste.
- If a battery leaks, clean the battery compartment carefully and wash any skin that contacted the battery material.
- Stop using the remote and contact the television manufacturer if the remote becomes unusually warm or hot during operation.
Usage and Power
Keep cables firmly connected and use the correct port for each device. The television continues to consume a small amount of power while turned off. To disconnect it completely, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
If the television is displaying a live channel or an input with no signal and receives no activity, it can turn itself off after 15 minutes. This automatic shutoff helps reduce unnecessary operation.
Setup and Operation
Install the Remote Batteries
- Push the battery cover downward and slide it away from the remote.
- Insert the two included AAA batteries, matching each end to the polarity markings.
- Slide the cover back into position.
Pair the Remote
If the batteries are installed within 15 minutes after the television is first connected to power, the remote can pair automatically. To pair a remote with an existing television:
- Press the Settings button.
- Open Remote, then choose Pair your remote to your TV.
- Complete the instructions displayed on the television.
If pairing does not work, turn off the television and unplug it. Reset the remote, reconnect the television to power, turn it on, and repeat the pairing procedure.

- Follow the on-screen instructions to select and pair the sound system.
When using HDMI-eARC or ARC, separate remote pairing for the sound system may not be necessary.
Turn the Television On or Off
Connect the power cord to the television and an electrical outlet. Press Power on the remote or the television to turn it on. Press Power again to turn it off.
Initial Television Setup
The first-start wizard guides you through internet access, external device connections, and other setup options. To use the full range of smart functions, prepare your Wi-Fi network name and password or an Ethernet cable. A phone, tablet, or computer may also be needed to activate the television.
Creating a Xumo TV account is optional. A payment method can be added if you want to make supported purchases through the television. After setup is complete, the television opens the home screen.

Speakers and Sound Systems
For a compatible HDMI audio system, connect it to the television’s HDMI-eARC port. The built-in speakers are disabled when the connected audio system is turned on.
For a digital audio connection, connect the television DIGITAL AUDIO OUT port to the audio system’s DIGITAL AUDIO IN port. Then open Settings > Picture and sound > Audio settings and turn off the built-in speakers.

Privacy
Privacy controls manage watch history, application watch-history sharing, recommendations, media casting, personalized advertising, the advertising ID, and cookies or application data. Clearing application data can remove stored information from third-party apps.
Parental Controls
Parental controls can require a PIN for live antenna content based on movie ratings, television ratings, or unrated programming. Apps can also be locked, and separate parental-control and purchase PIN options can be managed.
These controls do not apply to third-party applications. After more than five incorrect PIN attempts, another attempt is blocked for 10 minutes. Resetting parental controls restores their default settings.
Antenna and Inputs
Input settings cover HDMI 1, HDMI 2 with ARC, HDMI 3, Composite, and Antenna. You can rename inputs, change their icons, scan for antenna channels, and enable HDMI-CEC so compatible devices can control one another. HDMI compatibility options are available for devices that have connection problems.
Remote Settings
Remote settings show battery level, model, operating mode, and firmware information. They also provide remote pairing, voice-search language, sound-system pairing, mobile-device control, and accessibility shortcut options.

Device Name
Choose a preset device name or create a custom name to make the television easier to identify on a network or when casting.
Power Preferences
Power preferences include wake-on-media-casting, automatic shutoff, restart, and the front power-light setting. Restarting the television can resolve temporary software or connection problems.

Time and Location
Select a 12-hour or 24-hour time format and choose the television’s time zone.
Software Updates
The television can update its software through its network connection. If it is offline or an automatic update cannot complete, use the device’s supported manual update procedure and follow the on-screen installation instructions.
Factory Reset
A factory reset deletes current settings and restores the television to its original setup state. The initial setup process must be completed again afterward. If parental controls are enabled, the PIN is required before resetting.
Use a factory reset before selling, returning, or giving away the television to remove personal settings and stored information.
Troubleshooting
Remote Does Not Respond
- Confirm that both AAA batteries are installed with the correct polarity.
- Replace batteries that are depleted, leaking, or damaged.
- Move closer to the television and ensure the remote has a clear path.
- Reset the remote using the Left Arrow, Plus, and 9-8-1 procedure.
- Pair the remote again through Settings > Remote > Pair your remote to your TV.
Remote Pairing Fails
Turn off the television, unplug it, and wait briefly. Reset the remote, reconnect the television to power, turn it on, and repeat the pairing instructions.
No Streaming or Voice Features
Check Settings > Network to confirm that the television is online. Reconnect through Wi-Fi or Ethernet if necessary. Application access may also be affected by regional limitations, service interruptions, application changes, or subscription requirements.
No Antenna Channels
Check that the coaxial cable is securely attached to the ANT/CABLE port. Confirm that the antenna is positioned correctly, then run the channel scan again from the Antenna settings.
No Picture from a Connected Device
Verify that the cable is firmly attached at both ends, confirm that the external device is powered on, and select the matching HDMI or Composite input. If an HDMI device remains incompatible, review the HDMI compatibility options in Antenna and inputs.
No Sound
Check the volume and mute status. Disconnect headphones if they are not intended for use. For an external sound system, confirm that it is powered on and connected to the correct HDMI-eARC or DIGITAL AUDIO OUT connection. If digital audio is used, verify the built-in speaker setting.
Temporary System Problems
Use Device settings > Power preferences > Restart to reload the television software without erasing personal settings. A factory reset should be reserved for persistent problems or for preparing the television for another owner.
