Installing the Transmitter Batteries

  1. Remove the transmitter battery cover as shown in Figure 1.
  2. Install three AA batteries (not included) according to the polarities shown in Figure 2.
  3. Replace the transmitter battery cover as shown in Figure 3.

Removing the Truck Body

IMPORTANT: Make sure all of the accessories are properly attached and remove the protection film from the truck shell before turning on the truck.

  1. Pull out the four lock pins to remove the truck shell from the body of the truck.

  1. Connect the truck battery to the truck using the connection wire shown in the image below.
  2. Tuck the battery cable and connection wires into the small cavity to assure that your battery will lay flat.
  3. Once all cables are tucked away, the battery should lay flat in the battery slot shown below.
  4. Replace the battery cover and truck shell after the battery is properly connected.

NOTE: If you have the Power Pro Dual Battery Expansion Upgrade, here is how to install your battery:

  1. With the truck shell and truck battery cover removed, connect the adapter wire to the connection wire in the truck. 
    NOTE: Store the battery cover somewhere safe for future use as you will not need it with the Dual Battery Expansion upgrade.
  2. Use the Velcro strap to securely tighten the battery and cables into the battery cavity.
  3. Replace the truck shell after the batteries are connected.

Charging the Battery & Circuit Board Precautions

  1. You will want to fully charge your battery before placing it in the truck. You will need a USB port to charge your battery.

USB Indicator Guide

  1. WARNING: The battery pack can become damaged or explode if charged too long. The charger uses a voltage limit protected device to prevent this, but avoid charging your battery for more than 24 continuous hours.

  2. When the battery enters low voltage mode, your truck battery is low and the truck will not have as much power. It will need to be recharged. The vehicle should be turned off, and the truck battery should be removed before you begin charging it.
  3. The vehicle's circuit board uses an overheating protection function. If it becomes too hot, the car will be disabled for 3-6 seconds before functionality is restored. 

NOTE: You may notice the truck overheats unexpectedly. Wait a few seconds to let the battery and motor cool before driving again.

How to Turn on & Pair the Transmitter

  1. Before the vehicle is turned on, turn on the transmitter by pressing the power button. A red LED light will begin flashing.
  2. Once the controller has successfully paired with the vehicle, the red and blue lights will both stop flashing and hold solid.
  3. If the blue LED light is flashing, the transmitter's batteries need to be replaced.

Setting up the Altair Power RC Electric Monster Truck is a straightforward process. First, charge the battery fully before use. Next, install the batteries in the remote control transmitter. Turn on the truck and the transmitter, and then adjust the trim buttons to ensure that the truck is properly aligned. Finally, you're ready to hit the road and start driving!

Transmitter Switch Instructions

A. Power Switch

  1. Turn the vehicle and transmitter on within three seconds of each other to perform signal connection. Be sure to turn the transmitter on first.
  2. The blue and red LED lights on the transmitter and the LED light on the car will stop flashing and hold solid once the connection has been completed.

B. Steering Trim

  1. If the vehicle has been turned on and the front tires are not straight, use the ST.TRIM knob (B) to adjust the position. 
    NOTE: For best results, adjust the trim function while the car is stopped.
  2. Turn the knob clockwise if the car oversteers to the left.
  3. Turn the knob counter-clockwise if the car oversteers to the right.

C. Steering Dual Rate Adjustment

  1. The ST.D/R knob can adjust the dual rate, or the degree of travel that occurs when you turn right or left.
  2. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the dual rate.
  3. Turn the knob counter-clockwise to reduce the dual rate.

D. Steering Reverse Switch

  • Left Switch Set to NOR:
    1. Turning the steering wheel clockwise will cause the truck to turn right.
    2. Turning it counter-clockwise will cause the truck to turn left.
  • Left Switch Set to REV:
    1. Turning the steering wheel clockwise will cause the truck to turn left.
    2. Turning it counter-clockwise will cause the truck to turn right.

E. Speed Mode - Full Speed & Half Speed

  1. Set the right switch to H to enter full-speed mode.
  2. Set the right switch to L to enter half-speed mode.
  3. It's recommended to drive in half-speed mode when using the Power Pro for the first time to avoid damaging the truck.

NOTE: Factory speed mode settings should be set to half-speed mode. When you feel experienced enough to begin driving faster, you may enter full speed mode.

Operating the Power Pro 4x4

  1. When you're ready to drive the Power Pro, 
  2. ALWAYS turn on the transmitter before turning on the vehicle.
  3. When you're finished, ALWAYS turn the Power Pro off first before turning off the transmitter.
  4. ALWAYS operate your vehicle in an open area. Using the vehicle indoors or on a slippery surface may cause a crash.

  5. WARNING: The Power Pro is not waterproof. If water gets into the body of the truck and causes any form of damage, the manufacturer and seller will not be responsible for the damage. Customers assume full responsibility for repair or replacement of damaged parts.
  6. ALWAYS begin driving the Power Pro at a lower speed, or the vehicle may slip. 
  7. NEVER operate the vehicle at maximum speed. Doing so may cause damage to yourself or to the vehicle.

IMPORTANT

  • Set the motor brushes by driving smoothly on a flat surface the first time you use the vehicle. If you don't do this, the motor performance and functional lifespan of the vehicle may be reduced.
  • Avoid sharp turns, sudden starts and stops, pushing objects, driving in water or tall grass, or driving continuously uphill. Doing this can cause the motor to overheat, reducing the vehicle's functional lifespan.
