MULTI-STAGE PURIFICATION PROCESS

StageFiltration MaterialBenefits
1. Clarity Cartridge (I-Filter)Multi-layered PolypropyleneRemoves finer suspended particles such as dirt and sand roving wounded cartridge from water.
2. Chemi BlockDust Free Bacteriostatic Activated Carbon Block Filter CartridgeRemoves excess chlorine, foul odour, colour & dissolved organic impurities. It also removes pesticides and very fine turbidity causing particles from water.
3. Membrane Life EnhancerSpecial Antiscalant MediaPrevents scaling of dissolved salts like calcium and magnesium, thus enhancing the membrane life and improving water flow.
4. Reverse Osmosis CartridgeThin Film Composite (TFC) Reverse Osmosis MembraneReduces TDS, hardness, pesticides and heavy metals like arsenic, lead and mercury and removes micro-organisms like bacteria, viruses, protozoa and cysts.
5. Taste Enhancer CartridgeBacteriostatic Activated CarbonRemoves residual organic impurities and revives the original taste of water. The carbon granules polish the water, giving it a sparkling look, making it pure and great to taste.
6. UV Disinfection ChamberGermicidal UV LampUV disinfects the water by eliminating waterborne disease-causing bacteria, viruses and protozoa, thereby making it safe to drink.

AquaSure Smart Plus RO+UV+MTDS has approx. 6 litres of purified water storage capacity and the rate of recovery for purified water is approx. 25%. It is also equipped with a Microswitch Float Valve Mechanism which automatically shuts off the pump. The sealed lid of the storage tank protects water from dust and other foreign objects.

TDS modulator is located inside the product. As per factory setting, it comes in fully closed mode. TDS level of output water can be increased by slowly loosening (anticlockwise) the spindle of the TDS modulator. Normally a slight quarter turn is enough to increase the TDS of output water. Rotating the spindle in a clockwise direction closes the blending valve and reduces the level of blending. Please note that TDS blending and its adjustment are dependent upon the level of TDS of input water and on the TDS reduction capacity of the RO Membrane. TDS adjustment should be done by the Company authorized personnel.

INSTALLATION

  1. Install it in a dry, ventilated place, keeping it away from direct sunlight or below freezing temperatures.
  2. Connect it to only cold tap water. Filters can be damaged if connected to hot tap water.
  3. Make sure that the tap water pressure is between 4.26 psi to 42.6 psi (0.3 to 3.0 kg/cm²).

Note: In case the water pressure in your area is lower than the minimum specified, we recommend the use of an external booster pump. If the pressure is higher than the maximum specified, use of the pressure reducing valve (PRV) is recommended. (PRV & Booster Pump are available with the company at an extra cost.)

Make sure that the reject water pipe is placed lower than the top of the purifier, if not water might flow back into the purifier. Make sure that the purifier is installed within the distance of 1.0 m from the tap water supply. The purifier is for 230 V only, so make sure that you connect to a 230 V power outlet. Do not install the purifier in a place where water or rain could leak into it (outdoors, etc). Being compact, AquaSure Smart Plus RO + UV+ MTDS is easy to install either on your kitchen counter or on the wall.

Note

  1. Flush filters adequately during installation.
  2. Drain the first tank fill after installation.

Replace the filter at following periodicity.

  1. i-Filter (Clarity Cartridge) 6000# litres
  2. Chemi Block 6000# litres
  3. RO Membrane 6000# litres
  4. Antiscalant Media 6000# litres or when it gets exhausted (whichever is earlier).
  5. Taste Enhancer 6000# litres
  6. UV Lamp 5000 glowing hours (as per UV Lamp manufacturer's specifications)

Note

  1. Please refer to ‘standard test conditions’ for filter life.
  2. Normally approx. 600 ml of water flows per minute from the reject water tube when the unit is working. If the flow reduces, please contact our service centre.
  3. 6000 litres is approximately 1000 fillings of storage tank. Even if you fill the storage tank twice a day the filters will last for 1 year.
  4. Antiscalant media may get exhausted earlier depending upon the level of hardness in water. Refill whenever the Antiscalant media get exhausted. Please check regularly/at every mandatory service.

Backflushing the i-Filter / Clarity Cartridge

To ensure that the Pre-filter i-Filter works efficiently, it should be thoroughly cleaned by the authorized service technician during every regular service. However, you can yourself carry out the Back-flushing of Clarity Cartridge/i-Filter (preferably every 1-2 months) which will further help in enhancing the performance of your product. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Turn off the diverter valve to stop the water flow. Switch off the power supply to the unit.
  2. Disconnect the inlet tube from the inlet port of i-Filter. Also disconnect the output tube of the i-filter. Remove the i-Filter from its clamp.
  3. Connect the loose end of the inlet tube (coming from the Diverter Valve) and snug fit it into the outlet port of the i-filter. Keep the open end (i.e. the inlet port) of the i-Filter over the wash basin.
  4. Now turn on the diverter valve fully to start water flow through the i-Filter.
  5. Allow the water to flow like this for at least five minutes with full pressure. This will dislodge and flush out the accumulated sediments/mud from the filter.
CAUTION: Do not drink this flushed water.
  6. Turn off the diverter valve after the backflushing is over.
  7. Remove the inlet tube (coming from the Diverter Valve) from the outlet port of the i-Filter and connect it back to its original place i.e. inlet port of i-Filter. Keep the open end (i.e. the outlet port) of the i-Filter over the wash basin.
  8. Now turn on the diverter valve fully to start water flow through the i-Filter. Let it run for 2-3 minutes and then turn off the diverter valve.
  9. Put back the i-Filter back to its wall mounting clamp.
  10. Reconnect the output tube of the i-filter back in its place i.e. outlet port of the i-Filter. This completes the backflushing process.
  11. Now switch on the power supply to the unit and turn on the diverter valve to start water flow. Discard the first tank fill.
  12. Now your Smart Plus water purifier is ready for use.

Disinfection & Cleaning of Storage Tank

  1. Switch off the power supply to the purifier when the tank is full. Stop the water supply to the unit (by removing the raw water inlet pipe from the Diverter Valve). Remove the top cover of the purifier unit.
  2. Disengage the pure water inlet pipe of the storage tank.
  3. Drop one disinfection tablet into the opening of the inlet connector of the tank.
CAUTION: Keep the disinfection tablets out of reach of children. Do not eat/consume this disinfection tablet.
  4. Snug fit the pipe for 30 min.
  5. After 30 min. open the faucet and discard the purifier tank water completely.
CAUTION: Do not drink this water. Check if the tablet has completely dissolved. If not, then discard the leftover pcs. of the tablet.
  6. Switch on the power to the unit and insert back the raw water inlet pipe into the diverter valve as it was before.
  7. Let the purifier tank get completely filled. Discard this fill too.
  8. Allow the tank to get filled again. Now your SMART PLUS RO+ UV + MTDS is ready for use. You can start using this water. In case you notice any medicinal taste/smell, then discard the water and let it refill again.
  9. Carry out the disinfection process preferably every fortnight.
