USING KENT DELIGHT RICE COOKER

  1. Remove any stickers that may prevent unit operation.

  2. Check the unit for damage. Do not use in case of any damage.

  3.  Before switching on the appliance, make sure that your home’s main voltage corresponds to that of the unit operation.

  4.  Remove the sheet between the inner pot and the heating element.

  5. Clean the washable parts of the appliance thoroughly before using for the first time [refer to the ‘Cleaning & Maintenance’ section].

  6. Make sure all parts are completely dry before you start using the appliance.

  7. Always use given measuring cup to measure the ingredients for the chosen recipe. A measuring cup of rice is around 150g. Please note that the rice should not be washed directly in the inner pot.

  8. Maximum of 1L rice can be cooked at one time.

  9. Always add water and rice in the right proportion. Do not exceed the maximum amount of rice and water proportion. The proportion of water can be based on personal preferences and adjusted, if required.

  10. Please do not add more water than the level indicated on the inner pot.

  11.  Before using, ensure that nothing is stuck between heating plate and the bottom of the inner pot.
    If anything is found, please clean it.

  12.  Ensure that the inner pot is properly secured in its place.

Setup Guide

To get started with your Kent 16066 Delight Electric Rice Cooker, follow these simple steps:

  1. Wash the inner pot and steaming tray with warm water and mild dish soap. Dry thoroughly.
  2. Plug in the rice cooker and select the desired cooking function using the control panel.
  3. Measure the rice and water using the included measuring cup and add them to the inner pot.
  4. Close the lid and press the start button to begin cooking.
  5. Once cooking is complete, allow the rice to rest for a few minutes before serving. Use the spatula to gently stir the rice and fluff it up before serving.

RECIPES

COOKING RICE

  1. Open the lid by pressing the ‘Release Lever’ button found on the lid.

  2. Take the inner pot out.

  3. Measure the rice using the measuring cup provided.
    Note: Do not exceed the quantities indicated on the inside of the inner pot.

  4. Wash the rice thoroughly.

  5. Put the pre-washed rice in the inner pot.

  6. Add water to the level indicated on the scale inside the inner pot that corresponds to the number of cups of rice used.

  7. Then smoothen the rice surface.

  8. Put the inner pot in the appliance. Check if the inner pot is in proper contact with the heating element.
    Note: Make sure that the outside of the inner pot is dry and clean and that there is no foreign residue on the heating element or the magnetic switch.

  9. Close the lid of the appliance, and plug in the appliance to the main voltage.

  10. Press the ‘Start’ button.

  11. Once the rice has been cooked, the appliance will automatically switch to ‘Keep Warm’ mode.

Tip: Open the lid and stir the rice to loosen it for best results. Do this just after the appliance has switched to ‘Keep Warm’ mode. Then close the lid firmly. Stirring the rice allows the excess steam to escape and gives fluffier rice.

PREPARING SOUP

  • Put the ingredients for the soup and add water in the inner pot. Do not exceed the maximum water level indicated inside the inner pot on the scale.

  • Put the inner pot in the appliance. Check if the inner pot is in proper contact with the heating element.

  • Close the lid of the appliance, and plug in the appliance to the main voltage.

  • Press the ‘Start’ button to start cooking.

  • Once the cooking is done, you will hear 2 beeps and the appliance will automatically switch to ‘Keep Warm’ state.

  • Unplug the appliance to switch it off.

STEAMING

  • Measure three cups of water with the measuring cup and pour it into the inner pot.
    The amount of water varies according to the quantity of food being steamed.

  • Put the food to be steamed on the plate or in the inner tray.

  • Put the steam tray on top of the inner pot.

  • If you are using a separate plate, put in the steam tray.

  • Close the lid.

  • Press the ‘Start’ button.

  • Open the lid and carefully remove the steamed food from the plate or steam tray. Use a kitchen glove or a cloth, as the plate and steam tray will be very hot.

  • Unplug the appliance to switch it off.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

  1.  Unplug the KENT Delight Rice Cooker before cleaning it.

  2. After using the appliance, wait for it to cool before cleaning it.

  3.  To protect the non-stick coating of the inner pot, do not:

    • Use the inner pot for washing dishes.

    • Put vinegar into the pot.

  4.  Use only a moist cloth to wipe the outside and inside body of the KENT Delight Rice Cooker.

  5.  Use hot water, detergent and sponge to clean the inner pot. Don’t use steel wool.

  6.  If food sticks to the inner pot, you can soak for a moment before cleaning.

  7.  Do not wash rice in the pot directly.

  8. Clean the inner lid, inner pot, steam tray, rice scoop and steam vent cap with a sponge or a cloth, hot water and some dish washing liquid.

  9. If there is water on hot plate, use a dry cloth to wipe it. If there is rice on it, remove it.

  10. Please clean the sealing cover and steam valve regularly to avoid any peculiar smell in the rice.

  11.  When not in use for a long time, unplug the appliance and store it in a dry place.

  12.  The power cord should be unplugged before cleaning. Start cleaning when the body is cold completely.

Note: Never immerse the body of the KENT Delight Rice Cooker in water, nor rinse it under a tap. Wipe the heating element with a dry cloth.
