Krups OBLO Capsule Coffee Machine User Manual
Content
Overview
The OBLO Capsule Coffee Machine is a manual capsule brewer for preparing a wide range of hot and cold beverages. It uses compatible NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto capsules and lets you control water flow with a selection lever.
The machine suits home users who want espresso-style drinks, milk beverages, chocolate, tea, and chilled capsule drinks without measuring ground coffee. Its pressure-based extraction system passes heated water through the capsule to produce the selected beverage.

Detailed Description
The removable water tank supplies fresh drinking water to the heating and extraction system. The capsule holder positions a single capsule beneath the extraction head, while the locking handle closes the brewing area securely.
Use the selection lever to choose HOT, COLD, or STOP. The power button indicates the machine’s status during heating, brewing, descaling, and fault conditions.
The drip tray and drip grid collect liquid below the outlet. Their position can be adjusted for different cup heights. Remove the drip tray when using a very tall mug, but do not operate the machine without the drip tray and grid for ordinary cup sizes.
The OBLO Capsule Coffee Machine is designed for compatible NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto capsules. Each capsule is intended for one preparation and must not be reused. Beverage formats include espresso, ristretto, espresso lungo, cappuccino, chococino, latte macchiato, chai tea latte, and selected cold drinks.
Safety
- Read the operating instructions before first use and keep them available for later reference.
- Connect the machine only to a properly earthed mains socket whose voltage matches the rating plate.
- Use the appliance indoors on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from water splashes and heat sources.
- Do not immerse the machine, plug, or power cord in water or another liquid. Never handle the power cord with wet hands.
- Fill the water tank only with fresh drinking water, and do not overfill it. Never pour hot water into the tank.

Clean the machine regularly to maintain beverage flow and hygiene. Empty and clean the drip tray and capsule holder after use, and empty the capsule waste area daily if fitted to your version.
- Switch off the machine, unplug it, and allow it to cool.
- Remove the drip tray and rinse it with water. Use a small amount of washing-up liquid and a brush if needed.

Descaling
Descale the machine at least every three to four months, or sooner if drinks flow more slowly, emerge only as droplets, become cooler than usual, or the power button stays orange.
- Switch off the machine.
- Mix 0.5 litre of fresh drinking water with the descaling product specified for the machine.
- Pour the solution into the water tank and reinstall the tank.
- Insert the empty capsule holder, close the locking handle, and place a large empty container beneath the outlet.

- Run the cold rinse, then stop when the tank is empty.
- Clean the tank with a brush, refill it with fresh drinking water, and reinstall it.
- Wipe and dry the machine, switch it off, and then switch it on again.
Do not use vinegar for descaling, do not press the power button during the descaling cycle, and prevent descaling liquid from contacting the machine’s exterior. Never switch off the machine while the descaling process is running.
Troubleshooting
No Liquid Comes Out
- Move the selection lever to the middle STOP position.
- Check whether the water tank contains water. If it is empty, refill it and resume preparation using the hot or cold setting.
- If the capsule may be pressurised, do not force the locking handle. Wait approximately 20 minutes for pressure to reduce.
- When the handle can be lifted safely, remove and discard the capsule.
- If the injector appears blocked, unplug the machine and remove the water tank.
- Take out the cleaning needle, remove the drip tray, and tilt the machine for better access.
- Use the cleaning needle to clear the injector, then reassemble the machine.
- Descale the machine after clearing a blocked injector.
Machine Will Not Switch On
- Check that the plug is fully inserted into the mains socket.
- Check whether the socket has power.
- Do not use the appliance if the cord, plug, or machine is damaged.
Beverage Splashes From the Outlet
- Stop preparation and remove the capsule holder only after it is safe to open the locking handle.
- Inspect the capsule. A capsule with more than one puncture hole may cause irregular flow.
- Discard the affected capsule and prepare the drink with a new capsule.
Slow, Cool, or Dripping Beverage
These symptoms usually indicate scale buildup when they occur together with a steady orange power light. Run the complete descaling procedure before preparing another drink.
Power Button Remains Red
- Switch off the machine.
- Check whether a capsule is blocked, following the pressure-release procedure.
- Unplug the machine and wait 20 minutes.
- Reconnect it and switch it on.
- If the red indication continues, stop using the appliance and arrange authorised service.
Warranty
The warranty does not cover failures caused by inadequate maintenance or failure to descale the machine when required. Warranty handling for faults should be performed through an authorised service facility.
