Getting Started

BATTERY INSTALLATION

  1. Make sure the unit is OFF.
  2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit.
  3. Open the battery cover
  4. Install 3 new “AA” batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.
  5. Close the battery cover.

BATTERY NOTICE 

  1. The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance. 
  2. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. 
  3. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged (if removable). 
  4. Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision (if removable). 
  5. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  6. Do not mix batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
  7. Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
  8. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy.
  9. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
  10. The toy is not to be connected to more than the recommended number of power supplies.
  11. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

Choose a melody you’d like to hear. After selecting a melody, you can listen to it. Use the mouse to see a different animal playing an instrument; the main instrument of the melody changes accordingly. Press the number keys to hear a different melody. Press the letter keys to add funny sounds to the melody.

This category includes 3 activities:

  1. Story Time During this activity, you can watch and listen to a short story. You can download new stories via Explore Park and choose an animal to be part of the story.

  2. E-card Select this activity to receive a special e-card message.

  3. Picture Dictionary Press the letter keys to learn letters and words. Afterward, a short animation related to the word is shown. Connect the laptop to Explore Park to download a new picture dictionary.

Web Friends

This is a fictional social network with five friendly animal friends to play with: Peter Puppy, Billie Bear, Kaatje Cow, Kitty Cat, and Eddie Duck. This category includes 3 activities:

  1. Photo Album
    One of the animal friends wants to show you a photo. Then, choose a photo you want to show to the animal friend.

  2. Visit a Friend

An internet connection is necessary to use the Explore Park application for downloading new content.

VTech Tote & Go Laptop Software Installation

Before the Junior Web Laptop can connect to the computer, the software application Explore Park needs to be installed on the computer. You can obtain this software from the VTech website.

  1. Go to https://www.vtechnl.com/downloads to download the Explore Park software application. (Select the version suitable for the Junior Web Laptop).
  2. After downloading the software application, install it on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  3. Once the installation is complete, you can connect the Junior Web Laptop to the computer using the included USB cable. The USB port is located on the left side of the Junior Web Laptop.

Note

  • If the power supply is interrupted during the transfer of data to and from the VTech Tote & Go Laptop, the data on the VTech Tote & Go Laptop may be lost. Before connection, please check and make sure that your batteries are not running low on power.
  • Refrain from unplugging the USB cable during the transfer of data to and from the VTech Tote & Go Laptop. This may cause the data to transfer abnormally or be lost. If the VTech Tote & Go Laptop is connected properly, you will see this picture shown on the screen of your VTech Tote & Go Laptop. Your progress will automatically upload to the computer. And you will be taken directly to the VTech Tote & Go Laptop website, where you can enjoy all of the online features.

Care & Maintenance

  • Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
  • Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
  • Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
  • Do not drop the unit on a hard surface and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

VTech Troubleshooting

If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow these steps:

  • Turn the unit OFF.
  • Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
  • Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
  • Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
  • If the product still does not work, replace with an entire set of new batteries.
