VTech Touch & Teach Specifications
The VTech Touch and Teach Elephant is an interactive learning toy designed for children aged 2-5 years. It features a 5.5-inch touch screen, 120+ vocabulary and phrases, and 10 re-recordable story books. The toy has a QWERTY keyboard, movable ear, and micro USB port for data transfer and recharging. It requires 3 AA batteries (not included).

- Rotate the packaging lock counterclockwise 90 degrees.
- Pull out the packaging lock.
Getting Started of VTech Touch & Teach
Battery Installation
- Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
- Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a coin or a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
- Install 2 new AA (AM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.
Battery Notice
- Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.
- Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
- Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.
- Do not use damaged batteries.
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if removable).
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH
To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the LETTER MODE, STORY MODE orthe MUSIC MODE position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the OFF position.VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
Slide the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME () or HIGH VOLUME () position to adjust the volume.- AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Touch & Teach Elephant™ will automatically power-down after approximately 45 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.
VTech Touch & Teach Elephant learning toy Activities
- Slide the mode selector switch to choose a mode of play. You will hear a cheerful song and an instructional phrase. The lights will flash along with the sounds.
Press the light-up buttons to do the following: learn letters, animals names and sounds, objects and more in Letter Mode; read interesting short stories with fun sounds and short tunes in Story Mode; and hear a variety of short tunes and melodies in Music Mode. In all modes, the lights will flash with the sounds.
- Turn the book pages to hear magical sounds, short tunes, or some playful phrases, depending on the selected mode. The lights will flash along with the sounds.
Press the number/animal buttons to do the following: learn numbers and counting 1 through 8 in Letter Mode; learn animal names and sound effects in Story Mode; and play piano notes in Music Mode. While a melody is playing, press the number buttons again to play the melody one note at a time. In all modes, the lights will flash with the sounds.
- Press the question button to hear random questions about numbers, letters, shapes, animals or objects, depending on the selected mode and page. Press the number/animal buttons or the light-up buttons to answer the questions. In all modes, the lights will flash with the sounds.
Spin the roller ball to hear fun sounds. The lights will flash along with the sounds.

- To recharge the toy, connect the micro USB cable to a computer or USB charger.
- To record your own stories and messages, insert an SD card (not included) into the micro SD card slot and use the voice recorder function.

If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
- Please turn the unit OFF.
- Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
- Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
- Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
- If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
