Assembly 

Caution! 

• Before assembling the tiller, ensure that the switch is in the off position, and the plug is disconnected from the mains supply. Wait until all rotating parts are standing still en-tirely.
• When mounting the cable, be careful and ensure that it is not damaged or is still under voltage.

1. Place the wheels on the axis and tighten them with the included pads and the M5×12 screws.
2. Mount the wheel covers to the wheels and ensure that the wheel axis is covering the ends. To place them a hammer can be used.
3. Connect the centre bar to the bottom bar construction, then attach it with M6×45 screws.
4. Push the controller of the cable puller into the upper part of the bar construction.
5. Via the included M6×45 screws, as well as the wing nuts, the upper part bar construction can be connected to the centre piece.
6. Connect the handle with the upper piece of the rod via the ST4×20 screws.
7. Use the two included cable clamps to attach the cable to the rods.

Tiller Commissioning 

Before starting 

• Before every use, check the tiller visually: The tiller must not show any signs of damage.
• Thoroughly check the entire surface that needs to be processed and remove any foreign objects (stones, twigs, etc.).
• Before connecting the device to the mains electricity, make sure that the voltage of 230 V/50 Hz is not exceeded.
• Ensure that the tines are not touching any foreign objects and have enough space to move freely before turning the device on.

CAUTION! As soon as the motor is started, the blades will start to rotate. 
WARNING! The blades will continue rotating for a few seconds after turning the motor off. 
NOTE! Before turning the device on, make sure that the device is not touching any other objects and is held tightly with both hands. 

Starting the motor 

• Connect the plug of the tiller to an extension cable. Connect the cable to the cable clamps, so that there is enough cable left to operate the device with an adequate length of cable.
• To protect the tiller from switching on accidentally, it is equipped with a safety switch which needs to be activated before the shift lever can be activated. Activate the safety switch (locking button (2)).
• Stand behind the device and pull the safety lever. Continue holding it. When the motor starts, the safety switch can be released.
• The blades will start rotating and will dig into the earth.
• If required, activate the safety switch to stop the motor and the blades.

Warning! Do not touch the rotating blades. 

• Please take note of the instructions in this operating manual before starting the motor.
• Do not tilt the device when starting it.
• Keep all body parts (especially hands and feet) out of reach of the tiller.
• Hold the handles and the switch with both hands during the use of this device.

Note: If you let go of the switch during use, the engine as well as the blades will stop running. Stopping the motor 
Attention! The blades will continue turning for a few seconds after switching the tiller of. 

1. Let go of the shift lever, to stop the motor and the blades.
2. Remove the device from the electricity socket, to avoid an accidental start, when it is not super-vised.

Information on the use 
Always hold the device with both hands and pay attention to your feet, to avoid any accidents from happening. Be cautious when walking backwards, as a risk of tripping exists. Do not touch the transmission as it can get warm and cause burns! 

Damage prevention 

• Never lift or pull the device when the motor is running.
• Always lift the device when moving it across hard surfaces, such as tiles or stones. Do not move fast or abruptly.
• Switch the device off when finishing the work and disconnect it from the electricity supply for transport. Wait until the blades have stopped rotating.
• Move the device through the ground at a normal pace and as upright as possible.
• Always work away from the socket. Ensure that the cable is kept as far away from the working space as possible. Hang the cable into the belt clip which is included in the delivery.
• Overburden protection: The motor of the tiller will switch itself off automatically if it is overbur-dened. The device must not be used before the motor has entirely cooled down again.
• When working in slopes: Move diagonal to the slope, never from top to bottom. Be especially cautious when changing the direction on the slope. Do not work on overly steep slopes. There is a risk of injury if the tiller falls over, as well as the risk of the engine damaging due to inefficient lubrication. The maximum cross slope is 15°.

Working with the device 

• Always keep your hands and feet away from the tiller and its tines whilst working with it and especially when starting it. Otherwise, there is a severe danger of injury.
• The optimal operating temperature is between 0 ℃ and 32 ℃.
• When working with the tiller, make sure to comply with all your local regulations and including the regulations on noise restriction. The operation of the device can be limited or even forbidden on certain days (e.g., Sundays, bank holidays, etc.) or in certain areas (e.g., near hospitals, spas, etc.).
• Do not use the device, on stones or grass, as the device can be damaged by this.
• Do not use the tiller in the rain, in bad weather or in humid environments (e.g., near swimming pools or ponds, etc.). Only use the device in daylight or in very good lighting conditions.
• Only use the device if you are well focused, not tired and are not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medicine. Always take a break, as soon as you notice you require one.
• Pay attention to your balance and ensure you have a stable stand when operating the device, especially in slopes. Do not work on overly steep slopes. If there is the danger of slipping on a steep slope, the tiller needs to be secured by a second person with a rod or rope. The second person needs to have a security distance from the tiller.
• Always hold the tiller with both hands during use. Ensure that the handles are dry and clean.
• Never use the device if any safety guards are damaged covers are missing, safety systems have been changed or damaged. Do not work with a damaged, incomplete device or with alter-ations which are not approved by the manufacturer.
• Do not overburden the tiller and use it only in the performance range it was designed for.
• Avoid damaging the device. Do not use any additional weights and do not pull the tiller over hard surfaces, like stones or stairs.

After finishing the work 

• Do not lift or transport the tiller whilst the engine is still running. If you wish to switch the working area, turn the engine off, wait for the blades to stop rotating and then disconnect the plug from the socket.
• Do not let the device be unsupervised, when leaving the work area.
• Always switch the tiller off, wait for the blades to stop rotating and then disconnect the plug from the socket, when
  • the device is not being supervised;
  • removing plant and earth residue from the device;
  • the device is not being used;
  • carrying out maintenance or cleaning work on the machine;
  • the electricity cable is damaged or is knotted;
  • the device is vibrating unusually.
• Switch the engine off immediately and try and find the reason of the vibration. Vibrations are usually an indicator for something being wrong. If this should be the case, examine the device for any damage and have it repaired immediately, if necessary.
• Do not use the device in areas with a risk of fire or explosion.

Transport 

Transport by hand 

• Hold the device by its rod to lift it up and to be able to transport it.
• Never lift or carry the tiller if it is connected to the electricity supply.

Transporting the device in a vehicle 

• Turn the motor off and remove the electricity supply.
• Ensure not to let the tiller drop and do not place other items on top of it whilst transporting it.

Warning!

• Before carrying any maintenance, cleaning or check-up work, the plug needs to be pulled from the mains supply and the motor needs to be cooled down. Wait until all moving parts are standing still.
• Keep to the recommendations of this manual regarding the check-up, maintenance, and time frames.
• Keep the device in a well-maintained condition. If the safety and note labels on the device can-not be read anymore, they need to be replaced.
• After the season has finished, the device needs to be cleaned thoroughly, preparing it for the next season. Before using it again, check all components thoroughly.
• Check the tines regularly for damage.
• Always make sure that the ventilation holes are free of dirt.

• Store the device in a dry, clean and frost protected area, out of the reach of unauthorised people.

• Cover the tiller with a suitable covering, which will hinder humidity from entering. Do not use a plastic foil as a cover. A non-permeable cover will capture the humidity and will encourage rust and corrosion.
• Ensure that the cable is not bend or knotted.
