Detailed Description
The drain cleaner drives a flexible metal spiral through a pipe. A selected attachment at the front of the spiral breaks through, drills into, or works against the blockage. The spiral is moved manually while the machine supplies rotation only when the operating lever is engaged.
The control switch provides forward rotation and reverse rotation. Forward mode is used for normal cleaning. Reverse mode can assist when the spiral or cutting head becomes tight in the obstruction.
The guide hose helps direct and contain the spiral during use. The machine includes a support assembly whose height and inclination can be adjusted by loosening the nuts on support C. Component A refers to the spiral, while switch B controls machine power. The side lever releases or engages the spiral drive.
The spiral must be removed from the machine before changing a drilling or cutting head. Attachments lock into the spiral holder and can be removed with a screwdriver when required.

Safety
Electrical Safety
- Connect the machine only to an earthed socket with the voltage shown on the rating plate.
- Use a residual-current protection device with a rated fault current of no more than 10–30 mA.
- Do not operate the cleaner with a damaged power cable, plug, or switch.
- Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges, water, and moving parts.
- Disconnect the plug before maintenance, cleaning, storage, or changing an attachment.
- Do not open or repair the electrical section yourself. Servicing and adjustments must be performed by qualified technical personnel.
- Never handle the plug or machine with wet hands, and do not use the cleaner in rain or damp conditions.
- Use only properly approved extension cables suitable for the intended environment.
Personal Protection
- Wear the supplied protective gloves when handling the spiral.
- Wear a latex glove underneath the outer glove for hygiene, and replace damaged gloves.
- Wear rubber boots during drain-cleaning work to improve insulation and protect against contaminated water.
- Use protective goggles. A breathing mask may be needed where the work creates substantial dust.
- Do not wear loose clothing, jewellery, or other items that could catch on rotating parts. Tie back long hair.
- Keep children and people without suitable training away from the operating area.
Operating Hazards
- Keep the work area clean, well lit, and free from trip hazards.
- Place the machine securely so that the cable cannot be stepped on, damaged, or used as a trip line.
- Confirm that the switch is OFF before connecting the plug.
- Remove the spiral completely from the holding basket before switching on the machine.
- Choose a tool suited to the blockage and pipe diameter. An unsuitable tool may become trapped or cause the spiral to unscrew inside the pipe.
- Do not use this machine for chimneys, wells, or applications other than sewage and drain-pipe cleaning.
- Do not grind, reshape, or otherwise modify the attachments.
- Keep the working arc small. An oversized arc can cause the spiral to overlap, whip, or clip the operator.
- Keep clear of the pipe opening because the spiral or tool can suddenly move out of the pipe.
- Where the blockage cause is unclear, a pipe-inspection camera can help identify the obstruction before cleaning.
Setup and Operation
Before Starting
- Inspect the machine, power cable, guide hose, spiral, attachments, and protective parts for cracks, looseness, wear, or other damage.
- Confirm that the selected attachment matches the blockage and the pipe diameter.
- Set the power switch to OFF.
- Make sure the side lever is in position 4a, the rest position.
- Check that the white plastic sleeve is correctly seated.
- Insert the spiral through the machine with the lever in position 4a until the drilling head projects from the front.
- Place the cleaner no more than 50 cm from the pipe opening.
Choosing and Fitting an Attachment
Use the small-diameter drill first to penetrate the blockage. Once the obstruction has opened and water begins to drain slowly, use the largest suitable drill to complete the clearing work. If the pipe wall needs additional cleaning, a chain-spinning drill may be used with running water.
- Set the switch to OFF and disconnect the machine from the mains.
- Move the side lever to position 4a.
- Pull the spiral completely out of the machine.
- Fit the selected drilling or cutting head to the spiral and check that it is securely engaged.
- Do not change an attachment while the spiral is inside the machine.
Clearing the Blockage
- Feed the spiral carefully by hand into the pipe while the lever remains in position 4a. The spiral does not rotate in this position.
- Continue until you feel resistance from the blockage.
- Pull back slightly to form a controlled working arc. Do not make the arc excessively large.
- Move the switch to FOR and press the operating lever into position 4b.
- As the spiral advances and the working arc disappears, return the lever to position 4a.
- Form another small working arc and repeat the process.
- If the spiral becomes stiff, briefly select REV. Alternate forward and reverse movement while gently working the spiral back and forth to release the tool.
- Continue until the blockage is broken through or the pipe has been cleaned.
- Return the lever to position 4a before manually withdrawing the spiral.
- Pull the spiral from the pipe by hand while preventing water and dirt from entering the machine.
- Switch the machine OFF and disconnect the plug when the job is finished.
- Rinse the pipe thoroughly after the obstruction has been removed.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Disconnect the plug before cleaning the machine.
- Clean the housing with a damp cloth only. Do not use detergents or allow liquid to enter the machine.
- Clean dirt and moisture from the spiral and attachments after use.
- Apply lubricant regularly to moving parts.
- Inspect the machine for rust, cracks, and corrosion. Wipe affected areas with an oily cloth.
- Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
- Keep cutting tools clean and sharp for safer, more effective operation.
- Inspect the power-cable connection and extension cables regularly. Damaged cables must be replaced by qualified personnel.
- Inspect the machine immediately after an overload or strong impact.
- Arrange specialist inspection when necessary, with an annual inspection recommended.
- Replace defective parts immediately. If a defective part cannot be replaced, do not operate the cleaner.
- Store the machine in a dry, enclosed or elevated location away from children.
- Observe the 15-minute maximum continuous operating period and allow the machine to cool before further work.
Troubleshooting
The Spiral Will Not Advance
- Keep the lever in position 4a and move the spiral manually until it reaches the blockage.
- Reduce the size of the working arc if the spiral is bending excessively.
- Check that the attachment is suitable for the pipe and obstruction.
- Use short forward and reverse movements to help release resistance.
The Spiral Is Locked in the Blockage
- Stop forcing the spiral and keep clear of the pipe opening.
- Select REV briefly to loosen the attachment.
- Move the spiral gently back and forth while alternating rotation directions.
- Disconnect the machine before attempting to remove or change the attachment.
The Machine Does Not Start
- Confirm that the plug is fully inserted into a suitable earthed socket.
- Check that the switch is not set to OFF.
- Inspect the cable, plug, and switch for visible damage.
- Do not continue using the cleaner if the switch or electrical components are defective. Qualified personnel must carry out repairs.
The Machine Overheats
- Switch the machine OFF, disconnect it, and allow it to cool.
- Check that ventilation is not obstructed and that heat is not accumulating around the housing.
- Reduce the load by using the correct attachment and avoiding excessive working arcs.
- Do not exceed 15 minutes of continuous operation.
