Installation: Emerald LED Battens IP65 Uni-Series Instruction Manual
Content
Overview
LED Battens IP65 Uni-Series is a weather-resistant batten light range designed for indoor and outdoor installations where reliable, sealed LED lighting is needed. It suits commercial, utility, and general-purpose areas that benefit from a traditional batten profile, tri-colour output, and optional sensor or emergency functionality.
The range is built for surface mounting and is intended to deliver practical lighting with simple onboard configuration for colour temperature and sensor behavior. It is a strong fit for garages, covered outdoor areas, service spaces, and similar environments that need durable, low-maintenance illumination.

Detailed Description
LED Battens IP65 Uni-Series combines a sealed diffuser, internal LED board, ceiling clips, and a locking screw system for secure installation. The fitting uses a switch-based colour temperature selector, while sensor versions include dip switch controls for motion and lighting behavior.
The batten is designed to mount directly to the ceiling using clips fixed with screws. Once the enclosure is opened, the internal LED board and control settings can be accessed for configuration before final assembly. After setup, the diffuser clicks into the base and is secured with the supplied tool.
For emergency versions, the unit also includes battery-backed operation, test functions, status indication, and wiring options for unswitched or switched active connections. This makes the LED Battens IP65 Uni-Series suitable for both standard lighting and maintained emergency lighting applications.
Safety
Installation and maintenance must be completed by a licensed electrician. Power must be isolated before the fitting is installed, adjusted, cleaned, or serviced.
The luminaire should only be used within its stated temperature range and all maintenance involving the battery, light source, or internal wiring should be handled by qualified personnel. If the external flexible cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified person to avoid hazard.
Setup and Operation
Begin by fixing the mounting clips to the ceiling, then open the enclosure by loosening the clips around the batten. Set the colour temperature using the switch control, and on sensor models adjust the operating parameters with the dip switches before closing the unit.
During installation, unscrew the slots and open the LED board to reach the setting area. Connect the supply using at least 4G1.0 mm² H05VV-F cable, then attach the batten to the ceiling and secure the diffuser into the base. Finish by tightening the locking screw with the supplied tool.
The default sensor setup is detection at 100%, hold time at 5 minutes, daylight threshold at 50 lux, standby period at 5 minutes, and standby dimming at 10%. The dip switch controls allow adjustment of detection range, hold time, daylight sensor enable or disable, standby period, and standby dim level.
- Detection area supports ceiling mounting and wall mounting patterns.
- Hold time options include 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 15 minutes.
- Daylight sensor can be set to 50 lux or disabled.
- Standby period can be set to 0 seconds, 5 minutes, or 30 minutes, with an infinite mode available on emergency versions.
- Standby dimming levels include 10%, 20%, 30%, and 50%.
For emergency versions, a short press begins the test sequence, while a long press can start emergency operation or battery-related procedures depending on the unit state. LED indicators show charging, fault, and test conditions through green and yellow patterns.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Before any maintenance work, disconnect all power supplies and keep the fitting de-energized. Battery replacement, lamp replacement, and any internal service should only be performed by qualified personnel.
It is recommended to disconnect the battery before storage or transport. The battery should be charged once every three months to help preserve performance. Replace the battery when it no longer achieves the rated backup duration after the normal recharge period.
Troubleshooting
Emergency models use the indicator light to report operating status and faults. A steady green indicator typically shows normal condition, while flashing yellow can point to load faults, battery faults, charging checks, or test activity.
If the unit enters an emergency state, the timing protection function may operate within seven days of a power failure. Self-test modes include initial checks, weekly checks, half-yearly checks, and annual checks, with the system using the results to identify load issues or low battery capacity.
- Flashing yellow may indicate a load fault or battery fault.
- Persistent test indicators can show that a timed self-check is underway.
- After a reset, the timer is cleared and the unit returns to its initial 16-hour check cycle.
- If the unit does not meet its rated backup duration after recharge, the battery should be replaced.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: IP65 construction makes it suitable for indoor and outdoor use in demanding locations.
