ASSEMBLING YOUR STROLLER 

1. WARNING
   Care must be taken when folding or unfolding stroller to prevent injury in hinge areas.
   To protect flooring, place a protective covering (cardboard, towel, small rug or blanket) beneath the stroller during assembly. 
   Unlatch side frame lock A. Continue holding the lock open while unfolding the stroller.
   Grab the parent’s handle B near the top of the canopy and pull upward until the stroller opens fully with an audible click. Make sure the stroller locks in the open position.

2. Attach the storage basket C to the frame by inserting the storage basket tube D into the opening in the stroller frame E. Make sure storage basket locks into place with an audible click. Repeat on other side.

   

3. For ease of removal and assembly of clevis pin, use needle nose pliers.
   To assemble the rear wheels to the axle, remove clevis pin G and one washer H from axle, leaving one washer and rear hub J on the axle.
   With the spokes facing out, slide a wheel I onto the axle. Slide on a second washer H.
   Insert straight side of clevis pin through hole in axle. Snap hub cap F onto wheel.
   Pull on wheel to make sure it is locked securely. Repeat steps to attach other rear wheel.
4. Turn the stroller upside down, as shown, so the rear of the stroller is facing upwards. 
   Hold the rear wheel/axle assembly K so the brake levers L face toward the parent’s handle.  
   Slide the rear wheel/axle assembly onto the stroller frame M until each side locks into place with audible clicks. 
   Pull upward on the rear wheel/axle assembly to make sure it is locked securely.

5. Turn the stroller so the front of the stroller is facing upwards, as shown. 
   Slide a front wheel assembly D into the front frame leg E until it locks into place with an audible click. Pull downward on the front wheel assembly to make sure it is locked securely. Repeat for other side. 
   Turn the stroller right side up onto its wheels.

   

6. Install the child’s tray P onto the tray mounts Q. Make sure the tray locks into position with audible clicks. Pull on the child’s tray to make sure it is locked into place.

7. To install the canopy R, stand behind the stroller and slide each end of the canopy S onto the canopy mounts T located on the stroller frame. Make sure each end of the canopy slides onto the mounts completely.

   

USING YOUR STROLLER

1. Step on the rear brake levers A to lock the rear wheels on the stroller.  
   To release the brakes, lift up on the brake levers.

2. To keep front wheel from swiveling, lift tab B on front wheel assembly C. Push tab down to allow front wheel to swivel.
   NOTE: The locked position is recommended for travel over uneven surfaces.

   

3. To open the child’s tray D, push a locking tab E on either side of the tray.
   Note: You can open the tray from either side. 
   To remove the tray D, push both tabs and remove the tray from the stroller. 

4. WARNING
   To avoid serious injury from child falling out of stroller, DO NOT raise or recline seat with child in stroller.
   To recline seat, squeeze adjuster L and pull down the recline strap on the rear of seat.
   To raise the seat, hold the D-ring M on strap, then slide the adjuster toward the seat.

   

5. WARNING
   To avoid serious injury from falling or sliding out, 
   ALWAYS use waist restraint.
   Note: Verify the stroller is locked in the open position by lifting up the rear of the stroller using the parent’s handle. 
   Lock the rear brakes and pivot the child’s tray out of the way (page 6). 
   1. 5-point Harness:
      With the 5-point harness, the harness shoulder straps G must start at shoulder height or lower, as shown, and use the harness strap loops H closest to the baby’s shoulders. To adjust the height of the harness shoulder straps to the baby’s shoulder height, do the following:
      1. Remove each harness shoulder strap G from each buckle I, as shown.
      2. Thread each harness shoulder strap G under the harness strap loop H that is closest to the baby’s shoulder.
      3. Reattach each harness shoulder strap G to each buckle I.

   2. 5-point and 3-point Harnesses:
      Place the baby in the seat and bring the crotch panel J up between the child’s legs. Fasten each buckle I. For a snug, comfortable fit, pull the shoulder straps G to tighten the shoulder restraint (shoulder restraint only for 5-point harness) and pull the waist restraint straps K to tighten the waist restraint.
      Note: To loosen the waist straps K, push in the release button L on the buckle and pull.
      Once the child is properly restrained, close and lock the child’s tray. Make sure the tray locks into position with audible clicks. Pull on the child’s tray to make sure it is locked into place.

      

      To change from 5-point to 3-point harness:
      Remove each harness shoulder strap G from each buckle I, as shown above. 

      

6. Pull canopy hoop M forward to extend canopy. Push canopy toward parent’s handle to close.  

7. WARNING
   Care must be taken when folding or unfolding  stroller to prevent injury in hinge areas.
   To fold the stroller, lock the front swivel wheels, lock the rear brakes, close the canopy, and remove your child. 
   Pull upward on the in-seat fold strap N until the side frame lock O clicks into place.
   To unfold the stroller, unlatch the side frame lock O. Continue holding the lock open while unfolding the stroller. Grab the parent’s handle near the top of the canopy and pull upward until the stroller opens fully with an audible click. Make sure the stroller locks in the open position.

   

USING YOUR STROLLER WITH THE SAFEMAX AND LITEMAX INFANT CAR SEAT

WARNING

• Only use the Evenflo SafeMax and LiteMax infant car seats with this stroller. Other infant car seats or carriers are not designed to fit the stroller frame and if used with this stroller may result in serious injury to your child.
• Before using the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat with this stroller, read all the instructions provided with it and keep the instructions stored properly for future use.
• DO NOT lift stroller by using the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat handle when installed on stroller.
• If unable to securely attach SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat to this stroller, remove the car seat and contact Evenflo ParentLink at 1-800-233-5921 (USA), 1-937-773-3971 (Canada), or 01-800-706-12-00 (Mexico).
• To avoid serious injury, make sure the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat is securely snapped onto the car seat mounts.
• Some SafeMax and LiteMax infant car seats have a blanket/boot option that must be removed for proper attachment to this stroller.

1. Fully recline the stroller seat back (page 7).
2. Make sure the child tray is securely latched (page 5).
3. The SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat A MUST be facing the parent when installed. Position infant car seat over the stroller. Touch rear vertical surface B of infant car seat against rear vertical surface C of child tray. Lower the infant car seat into the stroller and push down on handle. Infant car seat will click when fully locked into place.
4. Pull up on the front and back of the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat to ensure that it is properly locked into place.

To remove the infant car seat, pull the release handle E with one hand while lifting up on the carry handle F with the other hand.

Note: Refer to your SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat instructions for proper handle use.

CHECKLIST FOR PROPER INSTALLATION

• Make sure the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat A is in the rear-facing position (facing the parent).
• Make sure the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat is securely locked into the car seat mounts D and resting on the child tray C.
  Note: Car seat mounts are behind fabric, and not visible.
• Pull up on the front and back of the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat to test that it is properly locked into place.

Setup Guide

Setting up the Evenflo Stroller Travel System Epic 4 is straightforward and user-friendly:

1. Unpacking: Carefully unpack all components from the box, ensuring all parts are included.
2. Stroller Assembly: Attach the wheels to the stroller frame according to the instructions provided. Make sure all parts are securely locked into place.
3. Car Seat Installation: Install the stay-in-car base in your vehicle using the LATCH system or seatbelt. Ensure it is level and securely fastened.
4. Pairing Car Seat with Stroller: Attach the infant car seat to the stroller frame by aligning the connectors and clicking it into place.
5. Final Check: Double-check that all parts are securely attached and ready for use.

• Adult assembly required. Take care when unpacking and assembling; contains small parts and some items with sharp edges.
• To prevent a possible choking hazard, remove and discard packing material before using this product.

• DO NOT carry or roll stroller on stairs or escalators with child in it.
• DO NOT hang items on handle bar or place them on the canopy as they can tip stroller over and injure child.
• Be sure stroller is fully assembled and locked in unfolded position before using.
• ALWAYS exercise care when going over curbs or steps, and never use stroller for anything other than transporting your child. Push stroller at a normal walking pace only; faster strolling can cause a loss of control and injury to the child.
• DO NOT place hot liquids in cup holder. Spills can burn you or your child.
• To avoid serious injury from child falling out of stroller,   DO NOT raise or recline seat with child in stroller.
• DO NOT use stroller if any parts are missing or broken.
• DO NOT allow child to climb on, into, out of, or around stroller.
• DO NOT allow child to stand on the footrest. Stroller may tip over and injure child.
• DO NOT carry additional children, goods, or accessories in or on this stroller except as advised in these instructions. The stroller seat is intended for use with one child occupant and to accommodate only the additional weights in storage as listed in these instructions.
• Care must be taken when folding or unfolding stroller to prevent injury to you or your child in hinge areas. Make sure child is not in the seat or near the stroller when folding or unfolding.
• NEVER leave stroller on a hill or incline, even with brakes set. Stroller may tip, injuring the child.
• To avoid accidental rolling, ALWAYS set brakes when stroller is not being pushed.
• AVOID STRANGULATION:
  • DO NOT suspend strings or toys from the canopy.
  • DO NOT place stroller anywhere near cords from window blinds, draperies, phone, etc.
  • DO NOT place items with a string around your child’s neck such as hood strings or pacifier cords.
  • If not properly secured, the child may slip into leg openings and strangle.
• When making adjustments to the stroller, ALWAYS ensure that all parts of the child’s body are clear of any moving parts of the stroller.
• The canopy is not intended to provide UV protection.
• Sharp or heavy objects placed in pockets may cause damage to the stroller, or injury to the child.
• To ensure safety for your baby, please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for the use of your SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat and keep all instructions available for reference.
• DO NOT lift stroller by using the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat handle when installed on stroller.
• If unable to securely attach the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat to this stroller, remove the car seat.
• To avoid serious injury, make sure the SafeMax or LiteMax infant car seat is securely snapped onto the car seat mounts.
