Getting started

Installing the filter

Note: Make sure the appliance is unplugged from the electrical outlet before installing the filter.

  1. To remove the back cover, hold the side of it with both hands and pull.
  2. Pull the filter from the appliance.
  3. Remove all packaging materials from the filter.
  4. Put the filter back into the appliance.
  5. Reattach the back cover.

Setting up the remote control

  1. Pull out the plastic film on the remote control to activate the battery.
  2. Pair the remote control with the appliance if you have multiple devices in one house (see the chapter “Pairing your remote control”).

Note: Place the remote control in the slot and it snaps in place automatically.

Note

  • Plug the appliance into the power outlet; do not use a power strip.
  • If the appliance is running in heating mode when you turn it off, it continues working for a few seconds to exhaust the remaining heat.

Setting the child lock

    • All the other buttons are unresponsive except on/off.
  2. Press and hold the child_lock.pngbutton for 3 seconds to deactivate child lock.

  1. Press and hold the timer.pngbutton for 3 seconds.
    The display screen dims, rest lights will turn off.
  2. Press any button to turn all lights on.

Pairing your remote control

  1. Unplug the appliance from the power outlet and wait for 10 seconds. Plug in the appliance, then within 5 seconds,press timer.pngthe button on the appliance twice.
    The 2h indicator lights up.
  2. Long press the filter_replacement.pngbutton for 5 seconds on the remote control within 5 seconds.
    Thefilter_replacement.png andscroll.png indicator of fan button on the appliance lights up, and the appliance operates in the fan mode, indicating that the pairing is successful.

Note: If the “2h” indicator is blinking, you must repeat the pairing.

Replacing the battery

  1. Push the battery bracket edge gently and pull it out of the remote control. 
  2. Insert the new battery with correct polarities as indicated.
  3. Put the battery bracket back into the remote control.

Setup Guide

  1. Unpack the gadget and its accessories with care first.

  1. Pull the back cover and remove it from the appliance.
  2. Pull the filter from the appliance.
  3. Clean the surface of the filter with a vacuum cleaner.
  4. Put the filter back into the appliance.
  5. Reattach the back cover.

  • The filter is not washable or reusable.
  • Do not smell the filter because it contains air pollutants.

Replace the filter whenlights_up.png lights up on the screen.

  1. Replace the filter with a Philips filter (FYM220/30). Follow the instructions in the chapter “Installing the filter”.
  2. Press filter_replacement.pngto switch on the appliance.
  3. Press and hold the oscillations.pngbutton for 3 seconds to reset the filter replacement time.
    The filter replacement alertlights_up.png disappears from the screen.
  4. Wash your hands thoroughly after replacing the filter.

You can replace the filter before the filter replacement alert (lights_up.png) lights up. If you do this, you need to reset the filter lifetime counter manually.

  1. Unplug the appliance from the power outlet and wait 10 seconds.
  2. Plug the appliance into the power outlet.
  3. Within 15 seconds after power on, press and hold the oscillations.pngbutton for 3 seconds to reset the filter lifetime counter.
    • The filter replacement alert lights_up.pngblinks once after successfully resetting the filter.

The appliance produces a strange smell.

  • The firstfew times youuse the appliance, it may produce a plastic smell.This is normal.
  • If theappliance produces a burning smell, immediately unplug it and turn it upside down to checkwhether any foreign objects

havefallen into theappliance. If nothing is found, please contact your Philips dealer or anauthorized Philips service center.

  • The filter may produce an odor after being used for a while because of the absorption of indoor gases. It’s recommended that you reactivate the filter byputting it indirect sunlight forrepeated use. Ifthe odor remains, replace the filter.

The appliance is too loud.

  • The noiselevel is higher if you select high speed.

  • If anything drops into air outlet, it may alsocause abnormal loud sound. Immediate turn offthe appliance andturn it upside down to remove foreign objects.

The heating function is not working.
