System Assembly
Install stand
The stand must be assembled according to the following instructions. Adjust the height of the main unit and the distance from the main unit to the support holder by rotating the locking device. The anti-drop protector can be adjusted up or down; ensure the locking position is suitable for fixing the main unit, and then attach the main unit to the stand.
Install stirring impeller
Plug the stirring impeller into the drill chuck, and adjust the depth of the stirring impeller into the vessel. Rotate the drill chuck with your fingers to fix the stirring impeller, and then tighten the drill chuck clockwise evenly using the chuck key.
Note
- The overhead stirrer is a high-speed running device. The system requires securely locking the corresponding components in each step of the assembly to avoid any movement of the main unit or stirring impeller, which could cause harm or damage to peripheral instruments and personnel.
- The stand is a support device for the overhead stirrer. The corresponding components need to be locked securely to avoid any movement that could cause harm or damage.
- When installing the main unit and anti-drop protector, take care of your fingers to avoid injury.
Trial Running
SCI20-Pro & SCI40-Pro
- Ensure the required operating voltage and power supply voltage match.
- Ensure the socket is reliably earthed.
- Connect the power cable, ensure the power is on, and begin self-checking.
- Rotate the stirring button and set the stirring speed.
- Press the stirring button to start stirring.
- Press the stirring button again to stop stirring.
SCI20-S & SCI40-S
- Ensure the required operating voltage and power supply voltage match.
- Ensure the socket is reliably earthed.
- Counter-clockwise rotate the speed control button to the end before switching on the instrument.
- Connect the power cable, ensure the power is on, and begin self-checking.
- Clockwise rotate the speed control button to the target speed value and start the stirring function.
- Counter-clockwise rotate the speed control button to stop the stirring function.
If these operations are normal, the instrument is ready to operate. If not, the instrument may be damaged during transportation. Please contact the technical support of the manufacturer/supplier.
Note: Do not touch components of the high-speed running instrument during operation to avoid damage and harm.

Digital Overhead Stirrer
Display
Overload Protection
The overhead stirrer works continuously; the motor current is electronically limited to achieve security stall and overload protection. When the torque reaches a limited value, the overload protection function will start. At the same time, the overload protection light flashes.
- Starts overload protection
- When the setting speed value does not match the current medium viscosity, overload protection starts.
- When the motor output shaft is stuck, motor protection starts.
Interface and Output (LCD Digital)
- The OS40(20)-Pro Overhead Stirrer makes use of special accessories and cables to connect to external devices. A standard 9-pin interface is used to connect to the PC.
- The cable between the overhead stirrer and PC is selected from the specified communication line of the EIA-standard RS232C, corresponding with DIN66020.
- Transmission method: Asynchronous signal transmission in start-stop-operation.
- Mode of transmission: Fully Duplex. 1 start bit; 7 character bits; 1 stop bit.
- Transmission speed: 9600 bit/s
- Data communication from the laboratory instrument to the computer is only possible on demand from the computer.
Note: Do not insert or remove the RS232C communication line when the instrument is switched on!

SCI20/40-Pro
- Instrument cannot be powered ON when starting the stirring function
- Check whether the power cable is connected.
- Speed cannot reach the set point
- The setting speed value does not match the current medium viscosity; please reduce the speed, then restart.
- Stirring function suddenly stops
- Overload protection light changes to red, and the display area shows "Er 03," indicating the current failure is "overload protection." When the setting speed value does not match the medium viscosity that caused overload protection, press the speed control button to stop the stirring function. Restart stirring after lowering the setting speed value. If overload protection continues starting, then repeat the process and gradually reduce the speed.
- Overload protection light changes to red, and the display area shows "Er 04," indicating the current failure is "motor protection." When the motor output shaft is stuck, causing motor protection, press the speed control button to stop the stirring function, remove the block material, and then reset the original setting speed value to start the stirring function.
SCI20/40-S
- Instrument cannot be powered ON when starting the stirring function
- Check whether the power cable is connected.
- Stirring function suddenly stops
- Overload protection light changes to red, and the display area shows "Er 03," indicating the current failure is "overload protection." This instrument is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service, for a period of 24 months from the date of invoice.
