JBL Speaker Placement

Proper placement of the speakers is an important step in obtaining the most realistic soundstage possible. These recommendations are for the optimum placement of the loudspeakers. Use these placement recommendations as a guide. Slight variations will not diminish your listening pleasure.

All of the Northridge Series loudspeakers referred to in this guide are video-shielded (except models N24AW and N26AW) and can safely be placed near a television.

MODELS: N24, N24AW, N26, N26AW

Note for all-weather models: While the N24AW and N26AW are weather-resistant, they are not designed to be immersed in water. Be selective in your outdoor placement. Placing these speakers under roof eaves or a patio awning will offer some shelter and help contribute to years  of trouble-free performance. When installed outdoors, the speakers should be angled down slightly, using the mounting brackets that are included with models N24 and N24AW (brackets are optional for models N26 and N26AW).

The N-CENTER center-channel loudspeaker is designed to complement all of the Northridge Series loudspeakers. It is the ideal way to re-create the cinematic experience in your home.

Speaker Connections N26AW PRO Sound Comes Home

Speakers and electronics terminals have corre-sponding (+) and (–) terminals. It is important to connect both speakers identically: (+) on the speaker to (+) on the amplifier and (–) on the speaker to (–) on the amplifier. Wiring “out of phase” results in thin sound, weak bass and a poor stereo image.

Description

The JBL Northgride N26AW PRO is a 2.1 channel sound system with a powerful 8-inch subwoofer and two 3-inch satellite speakers. The system delivers a total of 150 watts of power, providing clear and dynamic sound. The satellites are wall-mountable, and the system is compatible with all your favorite devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The Northgride N26AW PRO also features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to stream your favorite music wirelessly.

Wall Mounting

MODELS: N24, N24AW, N26, N26AW

The Northridge Series speaker models indicated above may be wall-mounted. The customer is responsible for proper selection and use of mounting hardware, available through hardware stores, to properly and safely wall-mount the speakers. This product is not intended for ceiling mounting. Adjustable wall-mounting brackets are included with models N24 and N24AW.

Setup Guide of JBL Northgride N26AW 

Setting up the JBL Northgride N26AW PRO is easy and straightforward. Start by connecting the subwoofer to a power outlet and turning it on. Next, connect the satellite speakers to the subwoofer using the included speaker cables. Finally, connect your device to the system using the 3.5mm aux input or Bluetooth connectivity. The Northgride N26AW PRO also comes with a remote control, making it easy to adjust the volume, select your input source, and control your music.

Troubleshooting

1. If there is no sound from any of the speakers
   • Check that receiver/amplifier is on and that a source is playing.
   • Review proper operation of your receiver/amplifier.
2. If there is no sound coming from one speaker
   • Check the “Balance” control on your receiver/amplifier.
   • Check all wires and connections between receiver/amplifier  and speakers.
   • Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.
3. If the system plays at low volumes but shuts off as volume is increased
   • Check all wires and connections between receiver/amplifier and speakers.
   • Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.
   • If more than one pair of main speakers is being used, check the minimum impedance requirements of your receiver/amplifier.
4. If there is no (or low) bass output
   • Make sure the polarities (+ and –) of the left and right “Speaker Inputs” are connected properly.
5. If there is no sound from the center speaker
   • Make sure that your receiver’s “Center-Channel” mode is in the ”Normal“ or ”Wide“ position. If it is in the ”Phantom“ position, the center speaker will not play.
   • Check all connections between processor/amplifier and the center speaker.
