VTech Care for Me Features

• ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
  To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/ VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME () or the HIGH VOLUME () position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/ OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the OFF () position.

• MODE SELECTOR SWITCH
  To choose a mode of play, slide the MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the LEARNING MODE () or the PET CARE MODE ().

  

• AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
  To preserve battery life, the VTech Care for Me Learning Carrier will automatically power-down after approximately 50 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.

Note: If the unit repeatedly powers down quickly or the red light flashes three times then powers down, we suggest changing the batteries.

Getting Started

Battery Installation

1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover inside the pet carrier. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 2 new ‘AAA’ (LR03/AM-4) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.  (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)

4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover.

   

Battery Notice

• Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance. 
• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.
• Do not use damaged batteries.
• Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy. 
• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. 
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries. 
• Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if removable). 
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

The VTech Care for Me Learning Carrier is an engaging and entertaining toy that encourages toddlers to role-play as pet caretakers. The carrier features a variety of play modes and interactive elements, such as shape sorters and play pieces, that promote learning and creativity. Your child will enjoy feeding, grooming, and caring for the adorable animal figures while developing essential skills like problem-solving, fine motor skills, and empathy.

Activities

1. Slide the on/off/volume control switch to turn the unit on.  You will hear a song, a playful phrase and a sound.  The lights will flash with the sounds.

   

2. Press the piano keys to learn numbers, colors, shapes and objects in the Learning Mode and hear playful phrases in the Pet Care Mode. The lights will flash with the sounds.

3. Spin the roller to hear a variety of fun sounds in both modes. The lights will flash with the sounds.

   

4. Press the puppy button to hear playful phrases and sounds in the Learning Mode and answer simple questions in the Pet Care Mode.  The lights will flash with the sounds.

5. Slide the peek-a-boo slider to see fun surprises and hear playful phrases in both modes. The lights will flash with the sounds.

   

6. Slide the ABC beads to learn letters and hear fun melodies in the Learning Mode and hear a variety of fun melodies in the Pet Care Mode.  The lights will flash with the sounds.

7. Open or close the pet carrier door to hear playful responses and learn opposites in both modes. The lights will flash with the sounds.

   

8. If there is no input to the unit after approximately 10 seconds, you will hear a phrase and a song in the Learning Mode and a phrase and short tune in the Pet Care Mode. After another 10 seconds without input, you will hear a song in both modes.  If there continues to be no input for another 10 seconds, the unit will play a short tune and power down. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button, spinning the roller, sliding the slider or opening/closing the door.

Setup Guide

1. Insert the included batteries into the battery compartment, located on the bottom of the carrier.
2. Press the power button to turn on the VTech Care for Me Learning Carrier.
3. Press the shape sorter buttons to cycle through the play modes: Learning, Music, and Imagination Play.
4. Place the animal figures into the carrier, and demonstrate how to feed, groom, and care for them.
5. Encourage your child to explore the carrier and its features, and assist them in learning how to use the shape sorters and play pieces.

Learning Carrier Care & Maintenance

1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

VTech Troubleshooting

If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
