INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before use

• Check that the domestic mains voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the label of the device.
• Place the appliance on a flat surface. Remove the packaging materials from inside and outside of the appliance- ce. Remove all the stickers. Wash the drawer for coffee powder (l), the drawer for pods (M), the water tank (B) and the water tank cap (A)as described in the paragraph "Appliance cleaning".

• Fill the tank with cool tap water (Fig. 2). 

  

• Insert the water tank in its place (Fig.3).

  

• NEVER fill the tank beyond the MAX level.
• Insert the drawer for coffee powder (l) into its seat.

• Place the container under the dispensing spout (Fig. 4).

  

• Press the power button (Q) to switch on the appliance.

• The button light starts flashing. When the light is on fixed, press the weak (lungo) coffee button (P). The appliance starts dispensing water. The dispensing stops automatically. Remove the container from under the dispensing spout. The appliance is ready to use.

  

• The appliance is equipped with the auto shut-off function. After circa 25 minutes, if the appliances are not operating, it turns off automatically.

  

HOW TO PREPARE AN ESPRESSO COFFEE

• Take the drawer for coffee powder (l). Measure the coffee in the filter: 1 measuring cup for one cup, 2 measuring cups for two cups. Press well with the pressing pad (H). Insert the drawer for coffee Inwder into its seat (Fig. 7).

  

• Lower the lock/unlock lever (R).

• Place a cup on the grill for cups (D). If necessary, the appliance is equipped with a cup tray (E) that is stored in the drip tray (F). Remove the cup resting grill (D). Remove the cup tray. Turn the cup tray of 180 degrees and place it on the drip tray (Fig. 14). 

  

• Put the grill on the cup tray. Make sure that the cup is under the coffee dispensing Sinut (Fig. 15).

  

• Press the ON/OFF button (Q). The ON/OFF button light Stans blinking. When the ON/OFF button light comes on with a steady light,, the appliance is ready to dispense coffee.

• Push the small coffee button (N), for a short coffee (Fig. 11).

  

• Push the large coffee button (P), for a large coffee (Fig. 10). 

  

  

• The brewing process of the coffee stops automatically.
• To dispense two cups of coffee, place two cups on the grill for cups and press the weak (lungo) coffee button.
• If the On/Off light is flashing, it is possible to insert the coffee drawer, lower the lock/unlock lever, and press the strong (corto) or weak (lungo) coffee button. The button lights are blinking. Coffee will be dispensed when the appliance reaches the right temperature to prepare coffee.

• To remove coffee residues from the filter, lift the lock/unlock lever (R) and pull out the drawer (Fig. 12).

  

• Overturn the drawer and beat it repeatedly to drop the coffee residues.

HOW TO MAKE COFFEE WITH A POD

• Take the drawer for the coffee pod (M). Place the Incl in the filter. Push the pod towards the bottom of the filter with your fingers and make sure that the strips of paper stick to the internal surface of the filter. They must be well-centred and placed inside the filter. Insert the drawer for the coffee pod into its seat (Fig. 8). 

  

• Lower the lock/unlock lever (R).
• Use only pods bearing the E.S.E. standard mark.
• Put a cup on the cup resting grill. Make sure that the cup is under the coffee dispensing spout.
• Push the ON/OFF button to turn on the appliance.
• Push the small coffee button (N), for a short coffee (Fig. 11).
• Push the large coffee button (P), for a large coffee (Fig. 10). The brewing process of the coffee stops automatically.

USEFUL TIPS TO PREPARE A GOOD COFFEE

Ground coffee must be well pressed in the drawer. A stronger or weaker coffee depends on the coffee grinding level, on the quantity put into the filter and the pressing. A few seconds are required for the coffee to be dispensed into the cups. If the dispensed time is not enough, this means that the coffee is ground too fine or that the coffee put into the filter has been pressed too much.

Warning!

• If the Thermocream silicon disk (K) is clogged, the appliance does not dispense coffee. In this case,
  press the on/off button (Q) to switch off the appliance. Wait about 30 minutes to no longer the appliance and reduce the pressure on the lock/unlock lever (R). Lift the lock/unlock lever (R) applying a strong pressure from the bottom. Pull out the drawer (l).

• Overturn the drawer to remove the silicone disk (K). Turn the dispensing Sinut and pull it out from the drawer seat (Fig. 16). 

  

  

  Remove the silicone disk.

• Wash the silicone disk under running water, bending it slightly on the sides to release the central hole from any coffee residues that may clog it (Fig. 17).

  

Drawers filter cleaning
When you disassemble the dispensing spout, you can see the filter. Check that the holes are not clogged and, if so, clean them with a small brush (Fig. 18).

Assemble the silicone disk and the dispensing spout on the drawer. Insert the drawer for coffee powder into its seat. Let boiling water flow from the drawer inserted without the powder to dissolve or remove any coffee residue or impurities.

DESCALING

• Good maintenance and regular cleaning preserve and keep the appliance efficient for a longer period, greatly reducing the risk of scale formation in the appliance.

• The appliance is equipped with a descaling control lamp (O) (Fig. 13) that indicates that the descaling is necessary. When the descaling control lamp starts blinking,, you need to clean the appliance. If the descaling control lamp is blinking, it is possible to make other coffees.

• Fill the tank with cool tap water and a descaling product for coffée machines till the MAX level. Place a container, with a capacity of not less than 300 cc, under the coffee outlet Sinut.
• Press simultaneously the buttons short coffee (N) and double coffee (P) for a bit more than 4 seconds. The machine enters the "descaling" mode. The indicator light (O) starts flashing.
• Press one of the two coffee buttons (N) or (P). The machine brews water automatically for 30 seconds circa.
• Empty the container. Repeat the operation till the tank is completely empty.
• Fill the tank with cool tap water. Press one of the two coffee buttons (N) or (P). The machine brews water automatically for 30 seconds circa.
• Press simultaneously the buttons short coffee (N) and double coffee (P) for a bit more than 4 seconds. The machine exits from the"descaling" mode. The indicator light (O) turns off. The machine returns to the normal functioning.
• Only if the operations described above are carried out correctly (emptying the two tanks), the descaling will be reset.
• During the "descaling" function,, the ON/OFF button (Q) is disabled.
• For this purpose, use only a descaling product for coffee machines. Ariete does not accept any responsibility whatsoever for damage to components inside the appliance caused by the use of non-compliant products containing chemical additives. If a descaling is required, observe the directions on the instruction sheet of the descaling product.
